it's been a thoroughly miserable day here weather-wise - i am already in bed to get warm!
1) very nice cheese omelette for breakfast
2) had a meeting cancelled so took the opportunity to walk with dd2 half way to town
3) friend called by for a chat and a cuppa
4) made a huge pan of beans,, ys bacon and lots of veg - very yummy - i have decided frozen leeks are the way to go
5) currently have LTFC supporters' zoom on - they've all got the game on their tvs (which i don't) so i've got cheering and commentary which is actually rather fun. tense though.

Apologies this picture is so big. Here I am in the boater that landed on my head after Luton scored the winning goal at Wembley in 1988. There was no hope of finding which fan had thrown it into the air so I of course kept it. It's moved 4 houses and turned out to be more faithful than my ex. Tonight's score was also 3-2 - must wear it more often!!! (and thanks Raffles for your help)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hello. Just off the phone to DD1 as we were texting back and forth so I suggested it was easier to talk ! Dilemma continues but hopeful that resolves tomorrow. So very soggy here all day until about an hour ago. Went out with dog this morning and it got even heavier as we walked so we decided we were soaked anyway we would just keep going! Then it was time to go to work! For a few hours. 41p in tips today! In the jar though 😀
Nice to come home though. One of regular customers (who I’ve obviously not seen in 4 months) was in . She’s in her early 80s and is a delight to talk to. She seemed surprised when I said I haven’t really minded lockdown. I’m more anxious coming out it than I was being in it.Son made spag bol for tea.
Hoovered yet again as that blooming sock eating dog is casting! Hairy Mary.Chat to friend on phone.Quick doggy walk just till his ‘business’ was done. Rain finally off.11 -
Sorry to hear about the toenail woes, SuffolkSue. Good to hear from you.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday).
1) A lie in.
2) Went to my brother in law's to get the drone back (he took it back in his car from the Peak District as bigger son was on his bike). Nice to see my niece.
3) Bigger son has gone to Wales with 3 friends in a car, to do cliff jumping and sleep in hammocks. What could possible go wrong?! No word to say they have got there safely, of course...
4) An exciting afternoon! Went to floody city to see my school friend - first non-family member I have seen for 4 months. It was VERY strange to be in a town centre again. It felt like the centre of London with the noise and bustle. When I reversed the car into the space in the multistorey car park, I realised I haven't had to park in a space for weeks! We had a quick look around (sadly, at Accessorise and Laura Ashley, both with closing down sales) and had a cup of tea. It was nice but quite exhausting!
5) Aldi's nice brioche buns and burgers for tea.
6) Went to see the neighbour to say their boiler is making weird noises (it's on the outside of their house) and to discuss the builder who came out to see me last week to ask me to withdraw my complaint about his planning permission. I think my neighbour was quite shocked about that! (I haven't withdrawn my complaint).
7) Took the opportunity while bigger son is away to have a major clean up downstairs (even the windows) and also to change his bed.
8) Went to see the hens last thing and there have been 4 eggs in total today. They were a bit more jolly than yesterday.
9) A funny half hour where smaller son and I took it in turns to try and change one of the silly spotlight bulbs in the kitchen! There is a sucker thing to attach to the bulb as a "handle" but that is worse than useless too. Smaller son eventually managed by standing on the second step of the stairs and leaning in across the kitchen. Of course we decided to do this once it had got dark (no street lights here) so I was holding a very feeble torch.14 -
Suffolksue - ouch. Hugs being sent your way.
1. Drove most of the way to work and parked before road works and walked the rest of the day. It probably took a similar time but I'm happier walking than sitting in a traffic jam.It
2. Text conversation with a friend.
3. DS2 girlfriend came over and we all sat in the garden chatting.
4. DS2 finished cooking the tea that I had started.
5. Reading my book13 -
Ouchie on the toe Sue.
Pleased for you DD how weird that both Stoke and Luton survived after the former sacked Mr Jones and his subsequent return to you.
For yesterday,
Busy old morning cleaning, as always the pleasure is when it’s done.
Picked the last of my carrots, have been really pleased with them as first time have grown, will do more.
Baked a double chocolate cake, just because, so mid afternoon treat of that with a side of strawberries.
More food, this time tea which was Snorkers with roasted veg inc said carrots.
Late evening wander around the garden and saw a Hummingbird Hawk Moth on the Buddleia bush, fascinating to watch.

Ok, don't say much, but it is around 200 years ago that the vagrancy act came in! That was to rid the streets of the destitute soldiers after the Napoleonic wars! Yet today we still see veterans in distress! Now I has keeps in touch withs me brakefest club! 41 have stood down after taking their own life! Possibly more veterans will do so this year than any other since comrades started recording them, and what? The Veterans office set up to stop is is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard! Seek Trevor Coult MC on the YouTube. Please be aware that he does speak like he is inn the Pigs Bar and uses refined language, especially on the subject of the absconded ex prince!
That is all today!
The streets were lined with ...
