They were my closing thought last night, my waking thought this morning - and know this.
& is older than their joint years.
On way out today, front hedge held a fresh red rose of such stunning symbolic perfection, I took and sent immediate pics with love....in time, just, I now know.

So sad, ampersand. Life seems so unfair at times. That rose was there for a good reason.

I am very sorry to hear your news, Ampersand.
Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Sardines on toast for lunch.
3) Went to the allotment to level various tumps in the hen pen.
4) Went to my sister and brother in law's and WENT IN THE HOUSE! and had a Chinese takeaway for tea. Smaller son went too so he has been out twice this year now. We took the drone so he could be distracted into flying that until the tea arrived.
5) Smaller son made rocky road.
6) Watched Casualty.

For yesterday,
The leccy went off at 8.30 just as we were contemplating breakfast but thankfully only off for 30 minutes so boiled egg and soldiers were only slightly delayed.
Another trip to yard, can’t contemplate riding yet but took girlie for a walk in hand, we went past the big ditch / dyke and noticed a good patch of meadowsweet, will ask if I can pick some to dry the leaves for tea.
My happy place, leaning against my girl scratching her withers whilst she grazes.
Home and beloved was hedge cutting, I wasn’t required for labouring duties so made bread and pottered.
Found a packet of Border biscuits in cupboard that had forgotten about, Chocolate Viennese, so took outside with afternoon cuppa, the worker was happy and good job as cake tins were empty!
Snorkers for tea, with chips and beans, proper saturday fare.14 -

Hello. Sunday morning and I’m going back to work for first time in exactly 4 months! Bah! Dog and I having cuddles before I put my hair up in bunches ...too long to just clip back with a clasp! We’ve been a lovely doggy walk first thing back over the fields almost the way we used to do but it felt so disoriented because grass is thigh high and hard to see trodden on paths especially after all the rain we had had last weekend. I just needed to see our island and I don’t get a view of that the other way across fields I’ve been walking since big rains. Anyway island seen and back home and dog sleeping again
yesterday was quiet, pottered around inside and in garden though garden was rather cool until later on. Moved planters around in garden. And that was about it! But birds were singing and washing g dried between the little showers. Chat to sister then DD1 on phone. Watched Casualty.
have a lovely day14 -
