We have a falconry centre near us and they sometimes fly them to stop them nesting, still, I do live at the seaside!Carolbee11

Today was far too long and far too little outside in the sun. So let's think of 5 good things
1) started the morning with a workout - 47 minutes long! this was day 1 of week 8 - still enjoying
2) avocado salad for lunch sitting in the garden
3) asparagus risotto with the last of the buckwheat - was rather yummy
4) then a long circular walk with the dogs. caught up with xoh on the phone
5) last episode of Killing Eve - not sure i understand what went on but enjoyed it

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son enjoyed his camping overnight on the allotment. Smaller son has been playing Scribblio (?) online with his friend, where you draw something for the other person to guess
3) Man came to mend the front door (had dropped) and my bedroom window (new hinge). Luckily the door and windows all have a lifetime guarantee.
4) HM leek and potato soup for lunch.
5) Went to see my sister in her garden.
6) Managed to overpay a bit off the mortgage.
7) Pasta with HM sauce for tea.
8) Did some Duolingo, after rather a gap.
9) Registered on warmshowers, so bigger son can stay for free on his bike ride. We also have to offer free bed and board to occasional cyclists.
10) Realised I have sent around 25 emails to the county about smaller son this year - out of education now for 18 months. So I have finally emailed our MP. He's a Conservative, but we can live in hope.

My pleasures one to five are that I have found a vet that I think is going to be great. He was mentored/worked with my other most favourite vet for 13 years. Has the same ethos, listen and explain. No upselling, less is sometimes more.
Tiggy had her operation today. Anal glands flushed, 2 lumps on shoulder/leg and one behind ear removed. Teeth and eyes checked (eyesight very bad due to film covering eyes) and nails clipped. For the first time ever (EVER) she came out of anaesthetic as she went in. Steady on her feet, fully copus mentus and no leaking bowels. But most telling, no crying for hours and hours afterwards. I had to phone him later on in the day re insurance and I had to thank aneasthetist only to find out that he makes the decisions on what drugs are used. He eliminates the awful ones (?). Will have to investigate this further. I have never had Tiggy given back to me so calm. She is sleeping beautifully. My relief and thanks are palpable.
Cranky hope you find a job that meets your needs when the time is right.
A beautiful sparrow was trapped in the garage. Don't know how it got in but it seemed quite happy flitting about. I wonder if it has nested there. Will check soon to make sure we haven't shut a mummy out................
Have a wonderful day

Sorry to hear about the job Cranky all best wishes on finding a replacement.
Great news on Tiggy’s op Bala.
For yesterday,
Thought I would get ahead of myself food wise first thing and get the cooking done but the leccy went off and scuppered my plans. Pleasure was the courgettes and peppers roasted ok in residue heat, the bread had to wait.
Over the yard and gave girlie a quick bath followed by a walk in-hand to dry off.
Few chores and then sat in the garden with my pad & pencils to do a bit of drawing.
Baked bread and beloved & I shared the buttered warm crust.
Went to bed just before 10 and it was still light.
