Another glorious day
VJsmum I sympathise about the marking. I finally hung up my red pen (computer mouse!) 3 years ago, and still enjoy having the summer free.
Apparently the local KFC reopened yesterday and the queue of cars stretched forever!! People waited for over an hour!! Not us though!
Sorted out the messy kitchen cupboard, aided by DH! 'Do you really need this?'!! Eventually snapped and sent him out to play in the garden!
Time to sit in the sun and think
Happy sunny day everyone

Hello Everyone
It's a beautiful day. I haven't been able to catch up on reading your posts but hope you are all well and safe. Will try and catch up in the next few days.
One of my greatest pleasures in the last month or 2 was when my Dad was in hospital (he's okay, nothing to do with virus) I happened upon a white wagtail........first time I have ever seen one.
However, the relief that my dad is okay surpasses everything. Naturally.
Have a wonderful day

still trying to find pleasures,
1 lovely weather
2 made a lovely curry with lo chicken and DH are a little and enjoyed it .
not really a pleasure but DH is being fast tracked for End of Life NHS continuing care ,they seem to think it will be a forgone conclusion That he will get it .
the pleasure will be that all extra care will be put in as needed and there will be no cost .He is v weak and just wonder how much worse he will get before the end .This is a foul disease whatever it is called .
3supportive son and friends ,but of course all by phone ,I just need some human contact

Glad your dad is OK Bala...
Thanks Happycas - marking is a curse for sure.. Next week's lot even more so as i've already been paid and still have to do it...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Marked 8 more assignments - some very good marks indeed. I am not usually known as a generous marker.
2. Long walk with OH and DS across the fields. Lovely
3. OH made a delicious veggie curry for tea.
4. Watching the birds on my bird feeders - 2 collared doves turned up.
5. Watched the Incredibles 2 as DS's choice for family film night. I even stayed awake!
And today
1. Finished this batch of marking only to find 4 late submissions....
2. But still celebrated having done most with a soak in the bath, a coffeefacepack and my book.
3. Made another facemask - i now have three. Will start making for others now. I watched the first episode of The Nest while doing it.
4. Another walk over different fields with OH - saw my friend and her OH and DD and Archie the new doggy on the way back so stopped for a (distanced) chat and belly rub (archie....)
5. OH is making a quiche while i sit with my sundowner GandT...
Have a great evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Hello. Another nice day here. Had a horrid headache yesterday so took myself to bed early and thankfully it was gone this morning.
yesterday started ( as did this morning) with an early morning walk across the fields just me my dog and the birdies. Then I went down to the allotment. Neighbour friend was already there so had a chat with her. Son came down and helped put the fencing up. Stay out bunnies! Planted my pumpkins. Watered everything and pulled so many weeds! Was there for about 3 hours and found the walk home exhausting! But enjoyed the scenery and the lambs.
Dont think I did much else has had a sore head.Today early morning walk.Almost 2 hours chat with friend from Australia. Lovely to catch up.Walked round to mums. Weeded the driveway. Hoovered. Snipped some Berberis . Walked home. DD2 cleaned more of kitchen and as anticipated Sunday’s cleaning now messy! So DD a bit disgruntled!Sat in garden for a wee while then went in.Watered everything in garden this evening, lots in bloom. Busy bees.15 -
Most of my pleasures are from today’s walk:
baby cygnets
baby goslings
baby coots
heard my first cuckoo of the year
lovely sunshine and a beautiful moon again tonight 😊
night all 😊15 -
1) my heels felt silky soft this morning - that's 2 1/2 weeks' regime of soak, pumice, cream in the morning and cream and socks at night cos they were cracked and sore.
2) brie on toast for lunch sitting in a very sunny garden
3) paid of another bit of the mortgage - i appreciate i am very lucky to still be on full pay so taking advantage of cancelled holidays
4) sausage, leek and rice made up thing for tea - very nice but now all gone
5) then dd2 and I watched ROH's The Winter's Tale. Lovely music, fabulous dancing.

That does sound hard, SuffolkSue. I hope everything is put into place smoothly and promptly.
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) A lie in, then woken from a long and complicated dream about bookshops!
2) An unexpected drive to Bridgnorth, where bigger son had had a puncture, purely from the absolutely abysmal road surface. I have never seen pot holes like it. I broke a spring on my car between there and Craven Arms in December.
3) On our drive home, saw a red kite (not very common here) and someone giving away free bags of manure at the end of their drive. Had 3 to put round my courgettes.
4) Weeded and tidied up the garden. Watered the narrow strip on the roadside and the pots.
5) Both sons went for a quick bike ride. Smaller son hadn't done that for years.
6) Chow mein for tea, then raspberries in yoghurt. Then brownies!
7) Enjoyed the Great British Sewing Bee.
8) DIY haircut for me. Luckily it is very short so I just did a number 8 everywhere.
