Hello. Just getting dark now at 9.45pm. Just been a last doggy walk as sun was setting, half moon in sky, a very bright Venus and a blackbird singing on the point of my eaves. Lovely.
A reasonably productive day. Early dog walk over two fields with doggy. Chill in the air but a hint of promise in the sun as it was rising.Quick shower and then out to supermarket...tadah! Seems the best time to go is early morning when it’s not at all busy. Met a colleague so had a very quick chat with her. Then stuff for us and stuff for mum.Straight up to hers, put shopping away, emptied bins, did dishes, folded washing and back out! Will go round tomorrow to do a bit more cleaning.
Ah home! Pottered around tidying, laundry out, requested piles on stairs be taken up and they were...often they are walked past. Son put shopping away. I hate putting shopping away!Weeded in garden. Cut the grass in the afternoon.Started on series one of Blood. Watched some out in garden. Warmed up as day went on.
son had requested I took him to B and Q as his cars not long enough for what he wants. I’d said go later as I was not prepared to wait an hour in a queue ...website said shut at 8pm but that would be 5pm! Wasted journey but we know when it opens tomorrow and will be there! He made fajitas when we got home.Watched Casualty and the end of BGT then doggy walk then bed.A good day.15 -
A concern for anybody in same situ at present, but all is well.
1 > big number:-)))
NZ family msg just rcvd means Welcome to our world, little chap, Joshua.
They're already home and, because Jacinda and team declared Aotearoa to be on Level 3 last Monday, papa was able to be present :-)
Papa himself was born on day of &'s maman's funeral. Have always had closeness with him.
This is a Kia Kaha AROHANUI moment, against which Spits M's msg this afternoon is not: he has lost his splendid maman - elderly, covid.

I did wonder frith i like the idea of setting her another treasure hunt though
1) saturday hooray. workout was standing pilates. goodness, and it looks to innocent!
2) washing done, line dried, clean sheets for bed, lovely
3) a bit of shopping, cut the grass, take groceries up to mum. Almost seems like a normal Saturday
4) Frankenstein. Amazing. We saw the one with Cucumberpatch playing the creature, then I watched the beginning again, but this time with Jonny Lee Miller playing the creature. And I complained about a little bit of standing pilates!
5) also managed an hour of digging the garden and 45 minutes piano. finished with a soak in a very bubbly bath. BlissMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Good morning - and sunny too.
Yesterday was a happy day. DGS birthday(6) so took presents to doorstep and stood back to watch him opening them. Smaller present for DGD too, of course. Then later family whats app singing Happy Birthday and applauding blowing out of candles.Praise be for technology!
DD and partner walked to our house ( took them well over an hour) to collect meat I'd ordered from the butcher. Sat in garden ( distanced) for a choc ice and a natter then set off on the long walk back!
Still making headbands for nurses. Managed to beg and borrow more buttons that are sort of pairs, but now running out of elastic! Never mind, I'll diversify to face masks next ( not for nurses, just for people going shopping). I do have some of that sort of elastic somewhere. It pleased me to think that my mum would have been doing exactly the same thing in the same situation. I don't mind turning into my mum as I get older. There's worse people to be!
Happy 🌞 Sunday everyone

A good day
1. Long chat with friend. We laughed and talked.
2. Reported my houseplants been meaning to do that for ages so a job well done.
3. More weeding done. It's inviting but pleasure is it didn't take too long as had done it well earlier this year.
4. Drinking a coffee in the garden.
5. Having a wine and reading my book in the garden.13 -
For yesterday,
Lie-in followed by boiled egg with marmite soldiers.
Ever since I have been driving to the stables there has been a big old coloured cob standing alone in a field but today he had friends, two of the tiniest shetlands have ever seen. Loved that he finally had some company.
Equine girlie was like an excitable Tigger, bouncing everywhere, must be the sugar in spring grass.
Caught up on GW, cherry blossom envy.
Made a curry for tea.14 -
Morning - just - all...
Hope all are keeping well and sane.
Pleasures for yesterday.
1. Did a tough yoga class - the pleasure being i only refused to do one thing (4 faults for a refusal...)
2. Did gardening - put up my runner bean wigwam and set out my veggie bed.. The result of 1 and 2 means i ache a little today
3. walked into town with DD along the river - we were seeking grow bags but none were apparent outside the german supermarkets and we CBA to queue. Few people in home bargains so we stocked up on toiletries and a few other bits and bobs.
4. i cooked!! First dinner i've cooked since lockdown i think. CHicken fajitas for the men and halloumi wraps for DD - i had one of each.
5. Virtual pub - 4 way so a bit chaotic. THank goodness for technology..
Have a great sunday all - i am doing a bit of marking so there's less to do when the weather improves.
I wanna be in the room where it happens14 -
Good afternoon all,
sorry, I ran out of time yesterday and didn't post. Pleasures for Friday - all five were my new garden fence. It's been down a while and not my responsibility but I decided it was cheaper to pay to have it rebuilt myself than to pay a solicitor to try and make the people responsible for it rebuild it. Pleasure 1 - super helpful delivery driver who managed to off load the stuff for the fence by himself. Pleasure 2. Next door neighbours brother appeared to build the fence as soon as the stuff was delivered. Pleasure 3. Stuff was delivered in time for NNBrother to build the fence in one afternoon. 4. Next door neighbour made drinks etc for brother so I could stay indoors. Pleasure 5. My new fence. It is a thing of beauty and the garden feels like my own again.
Pleasures for yesterday....
Still the fence, I love looking out of the window and seeing it there
Small birds playing in the solar fountain dish. may as well call it a bird bath now
Taking a bagful of supplies including home made banana bread and ginger biscuits to my aunty.
While delivering the above we acquired my uncle and two dogs. We did a couple of laps round the park and a short walk along the prom. Even the HT enjoyed it and the dogs were so pleased to see us.
Saturday night Zoom quiz night with my school friends. We have a good laugh and a few drinks. It's doing all of us some good.
Take care all of you14 -
Afternoon everyone, hope you are all okay.
A few pleasures from yesterday and today.
Mr. M has made me some shelving in the garage for storage, a little thing but I’m really pleased with them.
Pooch number one clipped and bathed and both pooches taken on a nice long walk. I can’t wait for the dog groomer to open, he is so fluffy I think I need sheep shearers or Edward Scissorhands to make him look anything like decent not clippers.
Last night we watched a movie and then had some wine and played music laughing chatting and even dancing.
Roast lamb in the oven with rosemary and garlic, it smells divine and can’t wait to tuck in.
Well Behaved women seldom make history

1. A curious International Dawn Chorus Day, dawn as pic at 0503h
Cuckoo noisy overhead as I went out, fox barking near, pheasant more distant - then soon grey, all day. A still good time followed, with good coffee, orange, yogurt, teacake. Then, lovely long surprise call, early, from Spain. Covid comparison talk.
2. Thinking of little newborn, his 3rd day on planet Earth, safe in Aotearoa's Hawkes Bay backblocks hills, as I write here, Northern hemisphere.
3. Have been trawling for The Right Thing and just downloaded it - called Yawn The Sheep :-) a terrific crochet sheepie sleepsuit/babygro pattern, with sheepie ears. Will start after this.
4. Determined to do something for part of tmrw's task list Day of Doing and Out, it IS done. Rough as bags, bears absolutely no close inspection Lainey, but done :-)))
5.As a tribute to John Tydeman this original cast recording, 1991, just superb and on right now, Tom Stoppard's 'The Native State' R3:

Dame Peggy Ashcroft's final performance. A younger voiced Felicity Kendal - plot will have rung with some of her own childhood in India.
I am loving it. Utterly compelling. Just heard a character speak a date one also significant for &.....

Lots to do tomorrow, The Car Day+Out, tightly planned with required thinks ahead.
Everyone stay safe.
KIA KAHA AROHANUI!
