Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son did another escape room that was very good, though so difficult towards the end that smaller son and I just accepted our fate and ploughed into a field of asteroids!
3) My escape room was not quite so good. I did a Night at the Museum where the clues were in a "museum store" including cleaning silver teaspoons (covered in a cocoa paste), piecing together a Vermeer and sorting out canopic jars and deciphering hieroglyphics.
4) Another chow mein for tea, to use up the beansprouts!
5) Did the clapping at 8. The houses are so spread out, with some families waving through the windows, that we have developed a wooden spoon salute to each other.
6) Enjoyed the virtual pub quiz at 8pm.
7) Watched First Dates Hotel.

For yesterday,
Bit of a leaky eye whilst watching the fly pass for Captain Tom, emotions are close to the surface during these strange times.
Combined a trip out to see equine girlie to also drop by pet store for small dog’s food and bird seed.
Lunch was rest of chilli bean and red pepper soup, after 48 hours of sitting on stove top it had increased in power so my eyes watered for second time that day and sinuses cleared nicely!
Had run out of reading material and usual option of CS wasn’t on so ordered from local bookshop ( Toppings & ) pleasure of a parcel in post.
Clapping at 8pm and hearing our neighbours half mile down the road, not always possible depending on wind direction.
Extra one of early night and snuggling down with new book.

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday...
Shopping delivered - a few things unavailable but we'll manage.
Moved pebbles from a garden border to make way for the new fence. Rain stopped for long enough for me to do this without getting soaked.
The HT is still busy - online gaming ang ploughing through his online school work.
Lazy "bung it in the oven" dinner. Some days it's good not to have to plan, prepare and cook.
Crochet and Youtube after a relaxing bath.
Take care all of you

VJsmum - rousing hurrahs! Welcome back into a shop (toddlers may be learning one roleplay at home and a different real world)Purple kitten - thank you for reminding me, I love corned beef hash but the excitement of the chicken overwhelmed things.ampersand - hurrah the garden & bliss filled rain butts. Oh that spy! The transfer to Archives, oh my!DundeeDoll - computers are so much bad tempered Lego. The physical bit is easy-ish, the metaphysical bit is when a cable works one way but not the other. Oh good, not just me rotating through different glasses with all this screen time. (Even sunglasses, briefly!)Frith - an at home escape room? Sounds loads of fun! Awed at museum lockdown & charmed by wooden spoon salutevillagelife - online poker? Ah, with friends - will ask of Middleson when his poker soirees will return. Honestly didn't think I'd miss the teenagers getting choral on a tin apiece, and yet!mhagster - well done with the seasonal furniture waltz! (Says she with a laprug since I turned the heating off) Wonderful to have a son who cooks - well done! Not just me blinking at Van Der Valk - there Are two lots our original 1972 with Barry Foster & this new thing with Marc WarrenHappycas - the weather is absolutely daft at the minute. All my good gardening intentions are at risk of drowning!PaulieHerts - ducklings & wisteria - wonderful!LaineyT - having food made for me almost always a pleasure. (Youngest's burnt buttered toast oddly tasty as the buttery caramel taste is deftly cut by the carbon.) The choice of planes for Captain Tom - they'd had to spread misinformation to avoid crowds!juliettet - summer clothes rearranged - well done! This being Britain, tweed & a wool scarf in summer seems wholly reasonable.Cranky - you set me a good example with the exercises <MustTryHarder> I do love a 'bung it in the oven' meal!BoP - huge thanks to Raffles for ongoing works in between this rain!OS pleasures recentlySon waving laptop at me "is that how you spell Situation - it looks weird"Eartha Kitt. Oh my, a voice I could listen to for weeks & so many languages (says she trying to learn those nifty Turkish phrases from Ushka Dara)! Babel this ain’t...Youngest brought me a cup of tea unprompted. It’s a strange & potent blessing.“As a rule we don’t put dirty laundry up high - there’s no reason to” - being coached in laundry logic by Middleson is actually quite funny. His idea of “dirty” & “high” don’t always match mine but at least I get his logic.Boggling gently at the Stihl Timbersports where grown men compete to chop logs etc but their blade safety is automatic & beautiful, as well as their chopping technique. These are big husky lads but it’s working beef.Someone asked me about the details of different credit cards and what they meant. I had thought we were on for MS literacy but he found the FAQs & settled for basic literacy...Had 15 parcels for Hermes gnome & could only find 14 - yellings, & the 15th was lobbed down the stairs to me & I managed to toss it into his collecting bag! Cheerful grins all round. Some things you should learn at your mother’s knee - like how you roast a chicken. As declaiming from a website to said mother is not always successful & as for where & how much foil - it’s surely an ecumenical issue? Then it rests, under a foil layer & a tea towel, like a post marathon-runner? [It was delicious. I even made stock for this first time!] {Then declined to immediately make & serve soup - someone else can learn something new?}The morning greeting was “where’s the masking tape?” If he hadn’t then explained one of his terrariums (should that be terraria?) has developed Mould, my imagination would be happily bounding over the next county.Oh, Blimp! “We’re having the Bishop for lunch!” “Hope he’s tender.” And “this is not a gentleman’s war”...Son made toast. Left the toaster on. We didn’t notice til the smoke detector went beep. We found out I am too short to reach the detector to do anything about it. The menfolk laughed. [We are all fine & still friends but there are a lot of windows open.]Middleson is a good mate. Before the lockdown there were birthdays due, agreements entered into - we now hold a handsome remote control car & an air pistol, and are trying to figure the social distancing delivery etiquette so the unwrapping can be enjoyed but shared safely. By bike, on a moor, I suspect.I managed to identify a text scam on a son by the questions he asked - I now need to work on my calm assertive voice as I just yelled a bit. Which is OK in a fire but not needed for redirecting an almost phone scam victim. While some of my colleagues seem not to feel messy play (pasta, bread, biscuits - all that happy mess!) is vital to happy children, my lot hunted down & dispatched most of the ravioli supplies. Dare I point them at the 00 flour & the leftover chilli mince & grin?!Cherry trees bubbling with blossom and birds singing.OhDearHeavens. You know those bake-your-own croissants that come in rolls that you unfold & wrap & bake? Youngest did not RTFM, took the tin opener to it & extracted a glob of dough - but he & father, both near tears of laughter, got things into & out of the oven & ate a hearty breakfast Anyway.Good to watch the edges of garden tools getting brought right up to readiness with a power file - the localised sparks bright as sparklers, but safer.Son’s pleasure at having his own trolley nugget in the car. Not coin of the realm, but the right engineering.Series 17 mystery packet Playmobil figures! 5 happily acquired to adorn my 'working from home office' - but need to figure how to open the packet communally as that’s part of the fun!Heard some noise like someone trying to type in a foreign language & realised it was rain!May Morning Oxford choristers live on Facebook - enjoyed at a wholly civilised time & distance by me. (Ordinarily I hide, this time I loved it.)
Right. Health, strength, hugs & courage to all as have need & a strong back for all with gardens, wardrobes, & other seasonal adjustments to make!14 -
1. Work finished for the week.
2. Talking to neighbours after clapping.
3. A colleague gave me some wine. She has been advised not to drink so thought of me.
4. Chat with another colleague who works in a different department. She said I keep her amused during the morning briefing as my facial expressions reflect what she is thinking.
5. DH received a phone call, from his brother in law to say his sister had just died. We haven't seen her for over 30 years. His sister and his mum had a major falling out but have no idea why. DH is ok but it came as a surprise as we had no idea that she was ill.10 -

Re Imagined, Again!
DigForVictory said:BoP - huge thanks to Raffles for ongoing works in between this rain!
& Blessed cat thing!
VJsMam Signed, sealed, delivered and feel the wait!
Off the Rail!
Another one from San Francisco, just outside of Pier 39.
Now on with your version of Life with BoP!
Watched another flix on the net things last nite. An Officer and a Gentleman. It was the original, with a Bonneville. Rich did not get an Oscar, but the DS did. Wobbleades and some decent cheese was consumed, Raffles had his treat. Wes is watching a classic this evening! It is real as it is inn monochrome!
New Putah has arrived, and has all the carp removed, as usual. It is now up and running. Open heart surgery was conducted and new drive fitted within 1 hour of delivery. BoPsie is excited, probably too excited. The old PC is now the backk up thing. On rebuilding, BoP bounced again and scraped the wall. It is under repair. BoPsie is recovering.
The paint job is coming on, and as wes keeps the old paints, the scrape on the wall has bin filled and will be painted tomorrow, after the usual snorkers and best back.
We has bin sprouts in the bitsers for dinner. Will be added to onions, peppers and some buzzard. Raffles will be overexcited as usual. More details on decent food later ons! Water shall be drinked.
That is all from the new putah.
Keep Save and ...

Good evening folks and a happy Friday to you all.
Its been quite a productive day today with a couple of unexpected pleasures.
1. The weekly trip to the supermarket was surprisingly pleasant, normally I have been queuing for 30mins plus. But when I arrived today I was fourth in the queue and for the first time, I didn’t see anyone breaking the distance rule and I got everything on the list.
2. A mystery package arrived from my friend. It turned out to be a ‘keeping you sane pack’ and had some lovely gifts, wax melts, lovely soaps, a couple of magazines and a yoga belt . Such a lovely and kind gesture.
3. Gammon, eggs, chips and peas for dinner at the request of Mr M
4. Family FaceTime session, everyone well and in good spirits.
5. Garden is looking lovely, the rain yesterday must have been needed and finally got around to re sealing the fireplace, it’s made of limestone which is porous so needs doing periodically to protect it .Well Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

Hello. An industrious start to day and then a headache and rest of day a bit ppppfttt.
Didn't wake till 7.45am which is very late for me.Went down to allotment just after 9am . Lovely walk down, lots of wildflowers and the hedgerows all green. A pair of tiny lambs peeking through, they must be late ones as the others have a look of ‘sheep’ about them now. Planted some carrot seeds. Pulled some weeds. Ate a banana . Had a chat to a couple then headed home. Met a friend on way back so we walked and chatted at a suitable distance.Had a bacon sandwich when I got in then head started to ache ( not connected) so lay on sofa in extension and had some crazy dreams and woke up and it was 4.45pm !
ordered takeaway for dinner and it was delicious.11
