Morning all - from my conservatory. Still enjoying it
LOL at the rice, Frith..
Pleasures for yesterday
1. checked thesis for all the problems i invented overnight - none were there (i am sure there's 'something' to find, but i am not going looking just yet)
2. Long walk with OH through the woods. It is a military firing range and the red flags were up when we got there so turned back, just as a man came to take the flags down!
3. Afterwards we went to the farm shop - and it was me that went in! I haven't really been in a shop since march 20th!! Stocked up on fresh fruit and veg, and eggs, again.
4. prepared my revision lecture for today and did two bits of marking (have lots more but two a day for now makes some inroads into the pile)
5. watched two episodes of series 1 of afterlife to catch up with OH and DS. Then we all watched the last of series 1 and two (or 3) of series 2. All the feels...
Have a good day all - i have a lecture to deliver and more marking but not working this PM. might make some face masks...I wanna be in the room where it happens15 -
Good morning. It’s Thursday ( she writes to remind herself) not raining at the moment but has been for much of yesterday and again forecast for much of today . Though not torrential just oh I forgot to switch off kind of rain. anyway it’s certainly good for gardens and rivers and water butts at allotment!Yesterday was a day of quiet. Up with dog then did what I don’t really like and dozed off again . It always seems wasteful.Moved living room furniture around. Replaced heavy curtains with voile panels that let in light and we can pretend that even in the rain it’s summer. Come September time I’ll be excited to put heavy curtains back up.
The news our recycling starts again next week which for us is a week on Friday but hurrah! And food waste too. I’ve hated putting waste in the bin. When I got all decorated in November I got son to put up a curtain pole at my front window . I’ve never had curtains there always a blind. I put curtains up and hated them so down they came. So the pole has been annoying me for months, so it finally came down and I filled in the holes. (Still to paint over them)
it was chilly so the fire went on and then it wasn’t chilly it was cosy.
son made spag bol last night and it had a taste of the way my husband made it. Which was odd as we’d spoken of him a lot yesterday. I’m trying to make future plans ( in as much as I can at these times) or maybe I should say I’m thinking and considering future plans so had been looking at things and talking about stuff and was all rather emotive and never was a husband missed more than I miss him now. Gah! It doesn’t get easier. Anyway spag bol was nice. Son seems to actually enjoy cooking which is great as though as do I , its just nice not to have to do it every blooming night!Nice chat with friend on phone. As I was talking I was visited by a magpie right down at the patio door, a blackbird and a mistle thrush sat on the fence at the same time and the robin popped down too. So that was nice to see them all.
Then it was bedtime. I’m actually (touch wood) sleeping a lot better. Not so much crazy insomniac moments (hours) awake ...still crazy dreams but that’s how they’ve always been!Have a lovely day and stay safe x15 -
Good morning. And back to sunshine again!
A squirrel just came and peered through our patio door. I'm sure he was saying,'where's my food?'. Not our fault, Mr Squirrel! Sorry, though.
Blooming cold yesterday. I know we need some rain, but it didn't have to be so cold, now did it? Gave in and put the heating on.
Online delivery had no olive oil, but sent sunflower instead. First world problem, and not worth moaning about just now!
Re-reading Death on the Nile. Really enjoying it.
Managed to get a delivery slot for next week. Well, I'm usually awake silly early so might as well improve the shining hour
Happy Thursday (?) Everyone

Some pleasures for the last few days:
OHs mum out of hospital - it looks like she may have had a mini stroke. OH sister looking after them and she will probably give up her job in a care home to look after them. Think she is pleased to be out of the care home environment.
lovely walk in local park yesterday - ducklings and wisteria - beautiful 😊
managed to get home before it rained - saves watering my pots
finally got round to cleaning the kitchen floor!
have a good day everyone 😊15 -
For yesterday,
Woke to rain but by 10am it had dried up so went over to the yard.
The beautiful grey one is in a flighty, springlike mood at the moment but she was a good girl for her Mum and, as always, fell asleep when I was brushing her tail.
Home and beloved had made a very tasty feta salad for lunch, pleasure of having food made for me.
The rain came back and it felt cold so snuggled under the throw with small dog.
Chat with bf, we were meant to meet up the w/e after lockdown, seems so long ago now!

Well done VJs Mum. Have a breather & enjoy.
Your pony falling asleep Lainey. So cute.
Oh Mhags, be kind to yourself.
My recent 5,
1. Captain (Colonel) Tom.
2. Birds nesting and loving the recent rain.
3. A cosy home as it was so cold yesterday.
4. Work reducing but not as much as feared. I need to be busy.
5. Wardrobes all sorted and summer clothes rearranged. This, on the day I walked the dog in a tweed coat and wool scarf. Yes I know!11 -

Good evening all, pleasures for yesterday....
A lie in....well sort of. I got up, made breakfast and then went back to bed afterwards
Did some exercises with the HT.
Had a text chat with another friend from primary school
Did some crochet, watched youtube and chatted to another friend on whatsapp
The day seemed to go very quickly - probably due to the lie in. I've enough to do not to be bored but yesterday really seemed to fly past
Take care all of you14 -
Hello. Another day, another Thursday clapping at the front door.Erm...it was dry in between the wet bits so managed to get washing almost dry and then got another lot out and back in , in between showers.Gave the extension a thorough tidy. Lots of glass to be cleaned. Sofas pulled out and hoovered, hello dust bunnies.Seeds are coming through in my little veggie patch.Lots of birds visited and dog got dog nose prints all over my cleaned glass glowering at the birds!I’ve actually been reading a book today and enjoying it.Watched Van der Valk. But on Australian telly which has another two episodes up and no adverts! Enjoyed it but anyone else wonder why all the main cast were English? Was the same in first edition of the series? I used to ( and would still be able to if I had one) play the theme tune on recorder! Played recorder for years!
Bathrooms cleaned. Again! Polished my bedroom. Will Hoover upstairs tomorrow.‘ chatting’ through messages to a friend in Australia. Comparing lockdowns! They have 91 deaths in comparison to our almost 27000. Horrendous.14 -
1) managed to do workout, watch one hour webinar on assessment, have a shower, grab some breakfast and be at my desk for 9am meeting. just!
2) rest of risotto for lunch - took a whole hour with dd2 to rest my eyes (they are struggling with all these online meetings)
3) dd2 made supper - spag bol here too mhags while i reviewed a student paper.
4) after the 8pm clap i made jam tarts - i haven't made them for years and of course they are so easy and so yummy
5) then walked the dogs. it was almost dark by then. saw a fox in the old hospital grounds. boys went mad! foxy just stared straight back at us, took a few paces towards us, an owl hooted, then he decided to amble off.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
