I hope you don't mind but I'm going to back out of this challenge for a few weeks.
I've just come back from a whole day's testing at the Royal Brompton heart hospital in London and my op is scheduled for next week. One half of me is pleased the other half is sh.....scared. The statistics are 97% are fine - 3% are not.
On the bright side they were really pleased that I've lost a total of nearly 4 stone over the last year so its a great big thank you to everyone on here especially Knitwitch as I couldn't have done it without all the chat, laughs and support.
They have suggested I maintain my current weight until after my op so my body is in the best possible shape but I know I've still got a couple more stone to lose so I'll be back to join in when I can.
Wish me luck, this is the most scary thing that has ever happened to me. (op is - open heart, valve replacement and bi-passes but I'm not sure exactly how many, maybe three)0 -

Zafiro, this is a scary thing you are facing, but imagine how much scarier it would be if you DIDN'T have it.
Not so very long ago the sort of operation you are having would be unthinkable, unimaginable. As it is, you will be in the best possible place, with teams of brilliant professionals looking after you and healing prayers and vibes surrounding you from all corners of the UK and beyond, thanks to the magic of t'internet.
You won't be alone.
