Can you still claim cashback through quidco if there is a special offer of cashback from bt or sky. Got sky tv and am being offered upgrade which is about more than new customer. Since got an account with sky am considered to be an existing customer. Does this make sense? Also if you go though quidco you cannot contact them on the phone. Is that correct.? Thanks0

Whereas i find the threat of leaving BT always works and i end up paying less than current year .Threat i use is to have actual facts as to competitors >Phone BT and if they don't deal then say i am reserving the right to cancel within 30 days . Retention's come back with an offer a week or two later .
Like others in this thread, I find haggling with BT retentions really hard work. My contract comes to an end in a week or so, and the best they could do was £38 per month for Infinity 2 (which is what Im on now). Im currently paying £30 per month.
The likes of Plusnet (owned by BT!!) are much cheaper for the same speed at £30 per month plus quidco and free activation.
Very tempted to move over to Plusnet but I also have to factor in my BT Mobile Sim only deal which will increase by £5 per month - Plusnet is still cheaper at this moment, but I will try BT Retentions one more time if they can give a good offer.0 -
Im actually currently on Infinity 1, not Infinity 2. Just got off the phone and got offered
Infiinty 2 upgrade : line rental + fibre: £35.99 a month (a little cheaper if line rental paid up front for 12 months)
I have mobile sim only 20Gb data and was offered a 'speed boost' but that will mean a new 12 months contract on the mobile.
BT Sport Full package = £5 a month on top - good for Champions League etc.
Very tempted, and they wanted to sell me the package there and then. I said I'd think about it. Im sure the deal will still be there tomorrow
Only thing is, has anyone else been upgraded to Infinity 2? My current guaranteed speed on Infinity 1 is 50Mbs , and the lowest Infinity 2 speed is 53Mbs I think. If for example my new Infinity 2 guaranteed speed was 53Mbs thats not a huge increase at all - can I still cancel within 14 days ?0 -
I only got infinity 1 for 26.99 including line rental. Declined and switching to Sky, at least with Sky, their retentions team are more forgiving"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Did you have to call sky to get that and what is the max speed in your package? Online it's £59.99 set up fee plus £38.99 for similar speeds to what bt are offering me, and &29.99 with &59.99 setup for up to 38MBs. Quidco £80. Still tempted by BY offer .... might try calling sky up as I a sky TV customer0 -

Nah I am downgrading from BT fibre to Sky unlimited broadband using the MSE special offer, only 9.50, which is cheap as chips. Definitely worth it and haggling every year with Sky is better than with BT, sounds like BT are just not bothered and like loading up charges to prevent you switching."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Fair enough but I wanted fibre. Yes I'm always a haggler - try and beat my £18.50 a month for the full sky package for everything and £100 credit on top lol.
Sky fibre are actually even more expensive than BY even for new customers. The price I quoted above is not correct. For a 38mps unlimited fibre deal it's £38.99. Pretty laughable a0 -

The pain comes when you renew. I had the BT offer of 12.50 including line rental after cashback and cash cards. But they were going to bump it up. Worse thing is they would charge me 31 pounds to let my contract lapse and cancel at the end of the period or charge me 69.95 if I cancel and leave for another supplier before the date my contract finishes, both are stupid and may force lesser people to not switch and stay with BT and get taken for a ride.
Better I am helping my parents switch all their utilities and saved them loads over the years.
Sky offers for current customers are usually pretty competitive imho. This year I got free line rental and broadband for 10 pounds a month. Would be nice to have fibre, but don't use it enough to justify the doubling to tripling of current costs."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I find fibre speeds very useful as I stream a lot and notice a considerable new improvement on normal broadband speeds. It's either plusnet or BT for me. Just for to weigh up the options0

Have sky TVs and bt bb. Why is sky considering me as an existing customer and offer me upgrades at a higher price? Does anybody know?0
