  • Hi everyone. I've been away and haven't checked in for just over two weeks. I have until Friday to tighten my ways as I'll have to weigh in. I've been mostly on plan but a few cheeky bits have been consumed. Hoping to still be in target range as we are off to Spain on 20th so I'm determined to be down at the bottom before we go.
Brunch :- subway teriyaki chicken salad No cheese or dressing, nectarine
Dinner :- fajitas no wrap, served in Kos lettuce leaves. May use a bit of cheese to make them really scrummy.
Snacks :- hifi bars, blueberries and maybe some sun bites. No booze as I'm on the wagon until I see how badly behaved I've been at weigh in.

sarah - you really need to have more speed foods. You haven't had any for breakfast and not sure how much, if any, there is in your Cajun turkey mince.

    Denise

I agree I do need to. There is peppers, onions and celery in the turkey mince. I do need to go shopping as I've ran out of several speed foods I was eating. I do struggle to eat fruit at breakfast as it bloats me up so I try to have it as a snack late morning and bulk my lunch and dinner with speed foods to make up. I like to rotate my fruits too so I'll have a good look today at getting different ones to enjoy this week.

Well done to all that have lost.

Today I have woken up with more energy than I have for a while. Even the pain doesn't seem as bad when you have energy.

    Today's plan:
    Breakfast - porridge and fruit
    Lunch - lasagne
    Dinner - stir fry

    HA - milk and cheese
    HB - oats
    Syns - lasagne sauce (2), bun (5ish)
    Zebras rock

Good to see you back midge.:)

I did my meal plan and shop earlier so made a few changes.

    EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 fried eggs, tomato, HEB (half) toast
L: grazed on ham, cottage cheese and blackberries with yogurt
D: Lamb Rogan Josh with extra mushrooms, SW chips and HM pilau.
Syns: gin and I think 1.5 syns in the curry

Sarah - any Speed foods are good but like you I try to have green veg. Fruit is OK but try not to eat too much as even though the sugar is natural it is still sugar.

Rather than snacking on fruit how about carrot sticks, celery, cucumber and a dip made with quark, garlic & herbs. Or HM hummous (recipe on website).

You need to try and have at least 1/3 Speed foods every day. It doesn't necesarily have to be with a meal (although that is the SW policy).

  • Hi everyone,

I have recently joined up to Slimming World again, hoping to loose the weight this time round. I have read through the post at the top, and I have taken away some new recipes. Hoping to find some inspiration and motivation from this post to keep me focused as well as staying to group.

I'd agree and it's easier for me as I'm not a big fruit fan (mostly too lazy to prepare).

I work on a third across the day. I rarely eat any Speed at breakfast but aim for closer to half at lunch and dinner. I also don't snack on free food between meals as logic tells me that dilutes the amount of Speed across the day.

Another dip that's tasty is yogurt with NAS mint sauce. :)

I've just filled the SC with Bolognese for the freezer. :)
