Sarah - think you'll be OK with the avocado as you can have a whole one for 14 syns. I always wonder why they are so high in syns as they are a "healthy" fat.

Agree with Bubbs about refreezing as the mince has been cooked.

Good morning, don't know about the rest of you but I'm very glad it's the weekend!

STSfor me this week but it's been an effort to do even that to be honest. Struggling with the new job, while it's interesting and I'm working with lovely people it's very long hours and pressured in an office with no facilities to heat or store your own food. I am bring lunch and snacks in an insulated lunch bag but the temptation of coffee/cakes/chocolate are very hard to resist late in the afternoon when it's been salad for lunch again - I do miss homemade soup for lunch! Any ideas for a substantial lunch (no bread!) that is eatable cold and can be carried. Going to make stirfry for the early part of this week, like that enough to eat cold...

Well done to Beanie, Wiz, Merlin, Moneysaverme (and anyone else I've missed!) fabulous losses :j

Orlao - how about a food flask then you can takes soup, LO chilli, curry etc in with you for hot lunches. I used to use one years ago when I worked in an office with no facilities. They'll certainly keep your food hot enough to eat at lunchtime. Mine was a cheapie one from Wilko, fairly sure they still do them.

Other alternatives are pasta salad, LO pasta bake, rice salad but of course these don't really do much for warming you up either.

Do you have access to a kettle? If so there are loads of pot noodle type dishes which you could have.

    Hope these ideas are useful.

    Today's plan:

    B - BLT (HEB + 2 for spread)
    L - ham salad
D - pork, new potatoes, veg of some sort - not sure what yet. Could be the brocolli, beans & peas I was supposed to have yesterday but DH decided to BBQ the tuna steaks so we just had peppers & onions skewers & salad with them

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - spread 2; weekend wine:D

Morning all thanks bubbs joedenise it turns out there was enough for myself, hubby and lunch for today but I will remember that in the future :-)

    Meal planner today -

B - alpro dark chocolate almond milk HexA this is amazing really hits the sweet tooth spit for me. 4 bacon medallions (no fat) plus two fried eggs using fry light

L - left over Cajun turkey mince and rice

D - I wanted to make the calzone I've seen people rave on Facebook about but I've used my HexA and have plans for my HexB so that's out the window. I got the WW wraps and they are ok until 23rd August so no rush to make them. In this case I have opted for a baked potato with beans and I will get a salad to go on the side and I really fancy a nice bowl of juicy melon for after

S - alpen lights plus Apple slices

Exercise - will go out for a walk later, will see if I feel like going to the gym. I might just go for a swim but I'll see how I feel. If not 10,000 minimum steps only

Syns - nothing planned as yet.

sarah - you really need to have more speed foods. You haven't had any for breakfast and not sure how much, if any, there is in your Cajun turkey mince.

    Denise
  • JOE DENISE, what speed foods do you think are the most effective? I always seem to do well when I incorporate extra green veg. It would be interesting to know if anyone has any others that work particularly well for them that perhaps I haven't tried.

SARAH, I'm another fan of the Alpro choc almond milk. It's gorgeous though sometimes hard to find on offer.

Kathrynha - glad you're feeling a little stronger after being given the blood. I honestly don't know how you can even think about dieting at the moment - you're a trooper! x

Definitely and you could freeze the wraps too I think, maybe individually in case you just wanted to experiment with one.

Yesterday's eating was 'good in parts', SW breakfast fine, delighted with a light lunch at a NT property. I had a tuna JP with salad and that's exactly what it was! Proper tuna not mush with sweetcorn and an undressed salad (mayo available separately). Dinner wasn't such a success. Main was seabass with a stack (fancy gastropub:D) of mash and veg but I spoiled it all with a cheeseboard! I didn't eat the crackers, and there was celery, grapes and apple but really pigged on cheese plus 2 glasses of white.:o

Never mind, line drawn and back to healthy eating today. I haven't done my meal plan and shop yet (pleasures to come:)) so might change meals if needed.

    EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, 2 fried eggs, tomato, HEB (half) toast
L: probably JP with cottage cheese and beetroot
D: salmon, SW chips and some Speed yet to be bought
    Syns: gin:D
