Well done on your losses kathrynha and sarah.:T They may be small but soooo much better than gains. It must mean that you're hanging on in there close to plan.

Hope you're not too achey today SSM.:)

Why do you think you won't lose this week bubbs? You've posted some fab SW meals so where are you going wrong?

I'm going to WI tomorrow and then out for lunch. It's at my SIL's home and she got to target with SW last year so maybe it won't be too bad (although I have noticed that she's slowly gaining a few pounds). Before that we're going for a guided tour of Bombay Sapphire though so some syns will definitely be drunk!;)

I've got a lot on for the next couple of weeks that won't all be in my control so booking a SW holiday and then taking denise's advice and just being good when I can.

I had a taste of the lentil soup and it's lush as usual, need to portion it up for the freezer.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
    L: LO hash with veg
    D: SW spaghetti Bolognese
Syns: squirt of syrup (2?) Parmesan (3?)

That's brilliant Topgirl :T keep going!

Well yesterday didn't quite go to plan for me, I had a really poorly tummy :( awful cramps, if that's what it feels like when you have IBS then my sympathy goes out to anyone who has it... never been in so much pain! Took some (lots of) medication which has now bunged me up so who knows what awaits me at weigh in :(

Back on plan today though - not giving up this early on!

B - apple, yogurt, oats (heb)
L - chicken, orzo and butternut squash soup
T - fish, bulghur wheat salad, salad, pickles
S - crisps (3) hifi bar (3) milk in tea (hea)

    Well done on everyone's loses.

We think we might have got DD Samantha to join us of the SW way. She does not want to go to class but thinks she will join us.

Been trying to change the Veg that we eat. Normally its 3 to 4 each meal that we have Veg. Cauliflower, Broccoli, Carrots and maybe peas. Added Mangetouts, Leeks, Parsnips, cabbage, Sprouts. Also just going to have 2 or 3 each time we have veg so we don't get bored of them. Cannot do Courgettes or Marrow. Childhood thing.

Love cucumber as I have said before. Was in Lidl yesterday with Hazel and DD . Veg and Salad trip. Walked 2 miles rtn. Body Magic! Walking round having fun. Cucumbers. We need 3, 2 to eat and one to play with. Asked hazel rather loudly the one to play with do you want length or Girth? The looks I got from a packed Veg section!;):D;)

This is me all other. Always halving a laugh and a joke. Try going into Tesco's or any other Supermarket and just buying a Cucumber and a Jar or Vaseline! :D:p:D

Enjoying loads of Beetroot this week. Nice eating it but if you have not eaten lots before is not so good at the other end. :(:o

Sunshinemummy Good point. Sadly my joints were knackered by the Army. Trying to get Hazel onto a more low impact training schedule but she says she prefers the walking/jogging. Although her jogging is more like a fast shuffle. Hope you are well after your fall.

kathrynha Well done on taking the weekend off.

    Quick post merlin.

Glad I didn't see you in Lidl yesterday!:rotfl:

I've been in a similar rut with veg and recently discovered butternut squash. If you like sweet potato then you'll love it. It's very similar tasting but it's Speed!:T I've been having it roasted in chunks, it works equally well with something like fish or chicken or with gravy in a roast. I've also added it to soup and chilli. I'm going to cut back on sweet potato and parsnips and substitute BNS as I like every opportunity for extra Speed.

I eat loads of mushrooms and tomatoes too. Some with breakfast but they're so easy to roast for the last 15 minutes or so when you're having chips.

If you like mange tout then you'll like sugar snaps, very similar but crunchier.

Then there's onions. as well as the usual chopped into sauces, I like a big pile of fried onions with burgers or sausages and roasted (red and white) they're lovely.

I use some celery, generally in sauces, adore runner beans when in season and use baby sweetcorn when I can get it YS or on offer as I think it's expensive for something so tasteless.

I'm sure there's more but that's a few ideas to stop you getting bored with veg! Unthinkable!

Won't get bored with veg, just if we are always having the same eachtime. We used to have 5 veg on a Sunday Roast all steamed.

Tomato's, Mushrooms, Onions, Could live on all of them, raw or cooked. I can eat a raw onion like a Apple. Along with Garlic love that raw also. Forgot about Sugar Snaps and Asparagus.

Have managed to eat 300g of shrooms walking round a supermarket before.

Just had 250g of cherry toms, half a cucumber, beetroot, lettuce, shrooms, spring onions and 2 slices of ham for me lunch. Nanna for dessert.

Poor thing, hope she wasn't tough!:rotfl:

Forgot to mention pickles: these are particularly useful in the winter time when I'm not having salad or to spice up fried LO veg (aka bubble & squeak) which I have most Mondays for lunch.

I know you mentioned beetroot but I also have pickled cabbage and I love the big jars of Lidl's cornichons. They've got a sweeter, nuttier flavour than gherkins IMO. Baxter's Red Slaw is good but expensive unless on offer. Jalapenos and peppers is brine are worth having in the cupboard. If you like onions then pickled onions are free and Speed. I like the Sainsbury's pickled shallots but they're very hot & spicy and not to everyone's taste.

After I had peeled the nanna it tasted well nice. If I like it I can eat most things. Army training. Was eating Babies Head (Individual
Steak and Kidney Pud)with veg, spuds and gravy in 1984 in Germany but only had one mess tin so had to put my rhubarb crumble with custard on top of it or not get any. Pickled Onions to die for and Pickled eggs!
