O2 Broadband (merged)

You don't have to install the McAfee which is included with o2 broadband.
If you do want to, then bear in mind to put it on more than one computer you would need to go for either premium (3 licences) or pro (5).0 -
Is there any rentention offers with o2, cancelling my old account at my old home and re-signing up via Quidco at the new place, but wondering if they tend to offer anything?0
-
They will probably offer you a few months free (possibly more if you have an o2 contract mobile too) - they also say you can't return for 6 months if you leave (not sure if it applies if you move house and cancel and rejoin rather than moving the account to the new address)0
-
It'll be in the girlfriends name, but using the same o2 phone number, so not sure how that works.0

well they are offering £50 atm on quidco which on the £7.50 contract would make nearly 7 months - I am not sure they would do that deal if you asked them - but I do think I remembered someone posting who said they got a year free when they extended their mobile phone contract
Also seems quidco offer a free PAYG dongle now - I wouldn't have minded one of them0 -

Probably for the best then, just worried about the fact we won't be able to re-use the number already registered.0 -
If you are an O2 Pay Monthly customer, now you can get O2 broadband for as low as 7.5 quid per month for 8M + UNLIMITED (17.5 for non-O2 PM mobile users). See here:

Though not sure if that includes the BT line rental. Anyone bothered to read T&C?
I've been with Bulldog for 1.5 years (paying 32 quid per month for 8M), so as an O2 Pay monthly customer I am seriously considering switching... But BD has worked well since the beginning, and I am a bit concerned about the mess I might have to encounter while leaving BD (after reading complaints on many forums).
I just found in another forum someone got 10 quid off from BD by mentioning leaving it. Not know if that works for me... Also as O2 broadband just came out for a few days, nobody knows if it is good or not except the low price.
Anyone has any comments/suggestions?
Having now had my o2 connection set up, I can say I'm very happy at present. :j:j:j:j:j
Comments.......
I'm getting unlimited Broadband (LLU) connecting at 13Mbps+ and it's costing my £2.50 a month for the first 12 months (plus my pay-monthly phone contract). ;o)
Setup was simple, o2 kept texting me to keep me up to date with what was going on.
No problems/costs joining them from non-LLU operator and support has been excellent so far (obtaining router settings, setting up broadband etc.).
They "loan" you the router they send you (you will have to send it back when you leave them). You can use your own router though (simply ring them up and ask for the connection details).
Speeds have been good in peak times (streaming video etc.).
A bit techy, but the only problems I have had are....
I had to switch my SMTP (outbound mail) server to use a different port as they didn't allow me to use the one my previous ISP did.
It's a non-business package so I think they block the SSL ports on this package.
Router needed it's firmware updating to support the better speeds.
All in all, I'm a happy chappy!
Cheers,

I'm also now connected with O2 "Premium" broadband LLU and I'm delighted. I'm getting a steady 10Mbps, and although I'm paying the full £14.68/month price (ignoring the quidco cashback and 3 free months) this is still almost £10/month cheaper than my previous ISP.
The only minor niggle was the downtime during the ISP switchover - I was without Internet for about 2 hours. Also there was no communication from O2 until it was all over; a text message at the start of the day confirming that the switchover would be taking place as planned, and perhaps giving an approximate time, would have been nice.0 -
Hi, Urgent - Can you please advise how a current O2 broadband customer like me (out of 1 year contract) can take advantage of this offer (through Broadband choices) or Topcashback. It will be helpful if we could cancell our current O2 broadband subscription (I am out of contract now) and go back through the Broadband choices website. I am not worried about calling them up but more about technicalities or complications. thanks,0

they don't let you return for 6 months after you cancel
maybe better to phone them and say you will go into another 12 month contract if they give you some free months0
