My exchange has an RFS date of the 30/06/2008 for O2/BE. Does this mean I will be able to get the upgraded broadband package from this date. I am currently with madasafish and have a MAC code that expires on the 21/06/2008. I am looking for a new provider and like the look of O2 but only if I can get the good service.
I have been reading this thread and thanks to everyone for thier help0 -

I wouldn't give any comment because my migrations haven't takes place yet but it seems to be very good ISP based on the comments leaved by the members and also http://www.ispreview.co.uk/review/top10.php.
Give them a call - free 08002300202 (from landline) or 8002300202 (from o2). I think they are 24/7 based in the UK! Just chat with them and they will let you know what speed you will get if you got coverage with them.0 -

if yo uuse the samknows website you can see any date changes that O2/Be have put on the exchange in the past, they do have a habit of perpetualkly saying that exchanges will be available the next month, then changing the date just before the time is up. Looks to depennd on how quick they get work done in other exchanges0 -
Hi everyone,
I live in Plymouth and there doesn't seem to be any O2 coverage in this area? Has anyone else found this? Seems a bit strange that a big city such as this isn't covered...

Well the good news is that it's MEANT to be soon, assuming you in 'the' Plymouth:
"o2/Be : RFS date set : 30/06/2008"
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/WWPYTH
I've been with them since October 2007 and mightily impressed with nearly all aspects of the service - they aren't perfect but they're very good at ANY price, let alone at £7.50/m (less with rebates!)
Only read through a few messages here so don't know if it's already been covered but over on ThinkBroadband there's an active forum for o2 broadband customers (both the original ADSL2+ LLU and now BTw Access):
http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=o2
and I've prepared a summary, believed to be upto date/accurate but that's your call, of its features (and those of the similar but different o2 Group "Be" brand) at:

warning: if you are on 02's Simplicity 1-month mobile contract you may have problems getting their advertised £7.50 rate for home broadband.
02 Home Broadband Standard is normally £12.50 per month but £7.50 for 02 mobile customers. i signed up in march for broadband and Simplicity.
i've now had three broadband bills. the first was £7.50 as expected but the next two were £12.50, ie no discount had been applied.
i called 02 and they said that since Simplicity is a 1-month contract, the information supplied by 02 mobile to 02 broadband, confirming that i am an 02 mobile customer, effectively lapses. the only way to ensure i get the discount is to call them each month before the invoice date and confirm i am their mobile customer! the adviser said that although the mobile section of the business was 20 ft down the corridor from the broadband department, there was no system to update info from one to the other...
i'm considering getting a yearly mobile contract with 02 (if it's competitive). that way (they say) i won't have to keep checking they'd got their information right.
regarding 02 broadband service:
1. when i rang, the adviser told me i'd have to call each month to get the discount (as described above), and he also said they couldn't credit me for the overcharged two months. i called again to double-check all the above and a second adviser said they would credit me.
2. when i first signed up in march they sent me a (black) wireless router which frequently failed. they then sent a new (white) router which has so far worked well.0 -
If you go to the Be website the latest live exchanges scroll across the top of the page everyday HERE
Probably less time consuming to just go direct to the Be (and thus o2 too) exchange coverage page as linked at the end of that scrolling list (and from my summary), ie:
https://www.bethere.co.uk/showRollOutExchange.do
Interestingly the first exchange listed at this time FRODSHAM live 2/6
is per SamKnows still "o2/Be: RFS date set : 31/03/2008"
BUT at the foot of the screen says:
"3/6: Be Unlimited has enabled the Frodsham exchange for their service"
just above:
"5/3: Be Unlimited has set an enablement date of 31/03/2008 for the Frodsham exchange"
so shows you need to read ALL the screen on SamKnows.
Good news is that the o2 Broadband checker shows Frodsham 01928 numbers as o2 ADSL2+ Standard/Premium/Ultimate able
So if you're wondering IF you can get the good value o2 Std/Prem/Ult at your number just put it into the o2 broadband site and see (nearly everyone would get o2 Access), and otherwise take the timelines given by Be/o2 to SamKnows with a pinch of salt.0 -
Hi, i need some help. Anyone have experience switching from BT to O2?
Does O2 notified BT Broadband that i had transferred over to them and canceled my account? or i have to cancel the BT Broadband myself when i got my O2 broadband? Thank you very much!:beer:0
