Of course they'll still transact, because factors such as airport convenience, cost and flight times are more important than unpaid seating allocation.

And if people want to 'kick off' because they've assumed that something is included or will be done in a certain way, even though it was never part of their contract, then they're probably going to enjoy 5 pages of replies pointing out their foolishness.

If you do not like Ryanair polices I suggest you fly with another company. However you will still have to pay to sit together.

These hens are acting like spoilt brats, if they can't get what they want for free they are spitting their dummies out of the pram.

It is about time they grew up and became adults.

Not to the same level I think. If for example Marks & Spencer changed the policy to no refunds or exchanges on merchandise without telling anyone, then you will get months of people complaining they have been caught out and that IT IS A DISGRACE.

So people will still shop there but not to the same level because they know the item cant be exchanged.

Yes we will still fly Ryanair, but maybe they will not be our first port of call when looking at flights. THEY ARE A DISGRACE.

Again, I am totally shocked that people are sticking up for them and making remarks like, the hen party deserved it. Pay or shut up.

    Totally shocked......
Do you really believe that Michael O'Leary has just implemented this change in 'policy' :rotfl:without any research on the potential impact on his business?
If you do, you are extremely naive.
But as someone who acknowledges that sitting next to a stranger on a plane for a coupe of hours will RUIN their holiday, I have to say I'm not surprised.

The only think that does surprise me is the accusation that the people 'sticking up' for Ryanair are employees of said airline hasn't been made yet.

This is not a change of policy though, they have always made it clear that to guarantee seats together you have to pay.

If you disagree so strongly with their policy, then book elsewhere. Why would you choose to fly with an airline you call "a disgrace"? There are always other options available.

Looking at it £3 is a bargain. I've just booked with Thomas Cook to go to spain and they charge £7.5 per seat per flight to prebook. I paid because I want to be sat with my wife.

I'm also flying long Haul with BA later this year and paid £70 per seat per flight. They only open for 'free' seat selection 24 hours before take off so it's sometimes problematic to get seats together.

See, this ^^^^ is a reasonable attitude.

You think it's worth paying to sit with your partner so you pay what it costs.

Unlike some people who won't pay but throw their toys out of the pram when they aren't sat together.

Many airlines charge for seat selection not just the budgets.

You pay or you take a chance.

Or you choose not to pay and then throw a tantrum when you're not sat together.

We have paid to choose seats on long-haul, not because we feel that sitting next to a stranger will ruin our holiday but because being close to the plane exit door and getting to Immigration at the head of the queue can make a couple of hours difference getting to our hotel.
And we don't actually sit together even then.
On a 3-3-3 configuration, we choose seats one behind the other in the central section e.g. 15D and 16D or 15F & 16F.
This usually means we're each sat next to a couple (OMG! It's a stranger!) who get out the opposite side to us so we're not disturbed but can get up without disturbing anyone else.

We would never pay to choose seats on short-haul, we've been separated very rarely but if we are, so be it.
Our choice not to pay, on our heads it is if we're not sat together.

I'm not sure how cabin crew will cope when they come round with drinks and I order a G&T and say 'the bloke sat in 25C will pay'. :D
  • I must be getting on, but I find hens on planes and holidays more irritating than a grizzly child bawling its head off lol
