Ryanair sits hen party in FIFTEEN separate rows as outrage over seating policy grows

That's OK, just stick to your 'they should just do....' mantra.
Yes......
People know Ryan Air is a budget airlines and they always have offer to choose the seat with a fee. If you want to sit together either pay or choose main airlines where you could choose your seat without additional cost. RA is not the only my budget airlines who ask you to pay if you want to choose your own seat.
Nobody ask you force you to fly Ryan Air. It is unbelievable that this behaviour come from people over 30. As they are friend probably most (if not) all of them are over 30.
I missed flight a few times because of my own fault but I still love Ryan Air because it makes fly affordable. VIVA RYAN AIR....0 -
Utter tosh. How did you know they deliberately separate 15 people rather than random allocation avoid sit with more room for leg. How did the software knows that they are friends.
Perhaps they were on the same booking..........just a thoughtPolitical?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
You do realize many people don't care about the seat fee and just incorporate into the total cost of their trip? If some cheapskates can't bear to part with £3 for a seat and can't handle sitting on their own for a couple of hours then they should fly another airline rather than inconveniencing other passengers.0

People saying they don't want "the cost of choosing a seat" built into the ticket price....
As if sitting people together actually costs the airline anything?0 -
There's no deception, nobody's being led to believe they will be seated together if they don't select seats together.0

We just had a similar issue when 8 of us flew to Malta to celebrate a birthday
we were allocated 8 seats in 8 rows spanning across the length of the plane .
All rows allocated had seats spare so there was plenty of opportunity for us to at least sit in pairs
we ended up spending £6 each person each way so that we could sit together.
This cost us in total a further £96 on top of our original flight prices , so in actual fact our cheap flights became pretty expensive.
Unfortunately we have booked , prior to finding out about this ridiculous seating policy, some more flights with Ryanair for later this year, so am guessing we'll be stung for more seat charges then .
Needless to say we will not be using this rip off airline again.
Adding £6 per person does not make a cheap ticket become very expensive.
But well done on getting in "rip off" in your first post!0 -
Can you imagine going to a restaurant and finding £12 added to the bill because you and three friends sat round the same table?
Can you imagine people going out for a cheap meal, and having everyone in the restaurant sitting next to strangers so they don't have to pay the restaurant £3 extra?
It's just a bizarre money-grabbing scheme.
If they wanted to make another quick buck, maybe they should train their staff to speak Klingon, then charge customers £3 to be spoken to in any other language.0 -

That'll be me then.
Seating people together may not cost the airline anything but as long as a business model acknowledges the fact that some passengers feel they need to pay to be sat with their travelling companions I'd prefer it to be an add-on extra that I personally can choose not to pay
Some people seem not to understand that airlines are businesses that want/need to make a profit0 -
We need some maths analysis to accompany the article - just what are the odds that a "random" allocation gives all middle seats and all separate rows?
If someone can find the number of seats and configuration I'll do the math. I'll go out on a limb and say all different rows probably isn't as unlikely as people think and was going happen at some point.
It will slow down an evacuation - even if they just turn their heads to see that their friends are getting off too, not looking where you're going inevitably slows folks down...0
