Thanks for your ideas guys, keep them coming! Had a quick flick on debenhams website. There isn't anything really plain on there so not sure how that would appeal, different tastes and all that. At least JL is plain white, not sure if debenhams would have more in store though, sure they would.
Love the steiff idea! I'm coming round to the idea of using quality outer stuff and not really worrying about putting anything inside at the mo. Just found fab range www.swaddledesigns.com some beautiful stuff, I've emailed them about wholesale. Think certainly using things like this could justify the £80 price tag. (swaddledeisgns are the range sold in Harrods!)

You read my mind Becs I was going to suggest perhaps concentrating on the making the outside look expensive and quality first. Oh my God I love the swaddle designs - they are right up my street.
I'm wracking my brains for you here LOL :rotfl::rotfl:

i had thought of the back to school one....but couldnt think of how to do it similar to the nappy cake lol
i did however think of another adult one being:
dressing gown, pyjamas, bottle of wine/champagne, maybe a film and lots of treats ....... the ideas are endless though lol

A couple of cakes I did at weekend. Have posted pink one before but have re-done it and managed to take a better pic!!! Do you think they look too plain?

Kr15snw- sorry not got back sooner I was awy for the weekend down in sunny Somerset!
Youre welcome to steal some ideas from my cakes- its a compliment!
For the sock roses i just roll up from closed end and then tuck one end of the roll into the open and end and then secure with a rubber band. Quite fidley!
Really hard to describe. have a look on youtube and search for sock rose buds. hth!

They're gorgeous aren't they Shelley and very different! Don't think I've seen any nappy cakes using them! Could use the swaddle blankets then burp cloths for the top 2 tiers! Then maybe some waitrose baby toileteries inside if needed.
Where do you get the first steiff's for £18?
