Thanks Shelley for the tip on toy sizes. Think it will be a while though before I will be paying even £5 for a toy. (Up to now, most i've paid is £3.50 and that killed me!)

Becs, price of blankets and burp clothes made me think I ought to take up my old hobby of sewing again. Maybe I could become a supplier!!! I saw a lovely video on a US site last wk, making burp cloths and it got me thinking.

Moonpenny- Thanks. You're right about everybody's being so different but all still really gorgeous too!

Becs- what about the kaloo baby range? they do booties etc too that you could put in/on your cakes as well as the teddys that are adorable. My two little ones love their kaloo bears as they are so soft. Bit pricey but you could you can get them from John lewis so save on any postage.

Shelley- I agree we need more pics of cakes on here!

A couple of cakes I did at weekend. Have posted pink one before but have re-done it and managed to take a better pic!!! Do you think they look too plain?

Too plain Moonpenny!!!!! I think that looks absolutely gorgeous, really stunning. The colours work fantastic together, makes it look all cosy and snuggly, and how on earth did you get it to look so neatly put together. :T
I feel embarressed about my own now :o
Can I ask where you got the blanket from? They look great.

  • Just noticed that this has been posted on the hamper thread,

My Christmas hamper making has just been given a huge boost - the Clinton Cards near my work is closing down, and they have tons and tons of small cuddly toys reduced - to 10p each! So I picked a pounds worth up this afternoon, and will probably get another 10/20 tomorrow - woo! I'm going to be drowning in teddies!

Might be worth checking it out.

  • Moonpenny, sorry I missed both your cakes, they are beautiful well done. Where was the blue blanket from?

Becs not sure if you know but Debenhams have a sale on 30th Sept upto 70% off so may be worth a trip to pick up some goodies?

Hi RustyFlange for the tips on debenhams. Not one too near me so wouldn't be able to make it until the weekend though.

Had an email back from the company about the swaddledesigns blankets and things. They have sent me price list and looks good, not sure at the mo though as looks like minimum order would be £300. She put "minimum order with carriage paid £300" so not sure if that means min order £300 or min order with free carriage £300! Have emailed to ask.

    They have stated ....
It's in the City of London, near St. Paul's Cathedral, so a bit of a trek
I was thinking that it was maybe it was a national thing, but know I come to think of it, when I was England in July, the Clintons Telford store had a closing down sale, so maybe it might be a bit too late for some of the stores.
