    Hi Liz_uk,

Glad you got the dunelm blankets, they're fab aren't they and what a bargain!

My Dh doesn't get me either just whinges about buying more things! I just say one word to him "beer!" He soon shuts up!

Did you find the cello on flowerexperts? It's in the sundries category.

Can't wait to see some pics from your first attempts!

    Hi Becs !!

Aww yes - the same works for me, but I use the "you can watch the sports channel without me nagging" method !! :rotfl:

Found the Cello, getting some white dot. Used to do Partylite (candle parties) and I bought a HUGE roll from a flower wholesalers place through a friend, but it has pink dots on it - DARN !!

Just been scrawling through ebay looking at all the gorgeous ribbons.. love the ones with baby feet on them !

Considering i`m only making two - I`m flipping hooked already !!

Think its all this shopping I like.. hehe !!

Yep me too Liz_uk, Not having any little ones ourself at the moment I'm contenting myself with the shopping! As Dh says though if I don't sell the cakes we'll be well prepared if and when we are lucky enough to have a little one!

Hi, really need to get round to making a nappy cake for a friend due near Christmas but thought I'd let you all know I saw lots of baby clothes reduced by 75% in my local Wilkinson's. Not all of them were fab but there was a nice duo pack of Disney babygro's (neutral- ish) from £5.99 to £1.50.
    HTH :D

  • When you use blankets around the nappies do you secure them with nappy pins? I have only ever used more nappies around the outside.

    Hello!.....Can I join in?:cheesy:

As a result of reading this thread I have registered on MSE and you have completely got me hooked on nappy cakes! :T

You have all been an inspiration and I'm really enjoying myself shopping for all the bits! Like some of you have said..I cant stop fiddling with the cakes once I have finished making them!
I have made 3x three teir cakes which i will post piccies of up (but not sure how??). I would really like your honest opinions on these

    Just a couple of questions;
Wheres the best/cheapest place to buy cake boards? Do you use pins to secure your booties etc to the cake and how do you keep the soft toy from toppling off the top? I have bought some nappy pins to pin the blankets and towels and double sided tape for the base.
I'm a stay at home mummy with two boys under two so I'm looking to earn a little something by selling these....any suggestions on how to go about this successfully?

....and finally THANKS for inspiring my creative juices running again!:D :cheesy:

Hi Liz_uk, Your cakes are lovely! Love the shade of pink you used. Well done!!!

bellag - I got the silver boards from bagnboxman but am a bit dissapointed that they are not very thick - bit bendable! (I got the 12 inch ones) Has anyone else found this? The small ones I got are o.k.!
