Candyb, Your cakes with the photo frames are fab. Really different!, I wouldn't worry about being called "crazy english" at least that way you will get a name for yourself and everyone will remember you. LOL.
Thanks Moonpenny, what do you reckon, 'Nappy Cakes by Crazy English', I suppose they'd remember the name ... lol. I just hope the locals like them enough too.

I've just come back from having a look at the local 'International Market' (3rd time lucky, Id forgotten about them on the last 2 occasions) and was quite impressed. Just like our fayres. There were loads of people there. Only 2 craft stalls there, one with horrible handmade ornaments and another selling handmade carrier bag holders, potpouri satchets, peg bags etc, so there might be hope for me yet.
I assume that next weeks 'autumn fayre' (that I have booked)would pretty much be the same sort of thing.
AND wait for it ...... my other half is going to help me too ...... I cant believe it :j
I've almost finished making the cakes, all piled on my daughters top bunk bed! Just need 1 more pack of nappies. AND THEN the wrapping starts
Will take some photo's once finished and post on here.

Think I will try and sell my towel cakes and logs, cup gifts and jars of nothing too, while I am there.

    Hi guys,

The craft fair is tomorrow but I've had to cancel! I put in an order online for cellophane and ribbon and bows which was delivered yesterday to my hubbies work. Unfortunately he wasn't in the office yesterday so we went in to get it just now to find out the administrator gave it to another Becky who works for a completely different company in a completely different office! So have lost the lot at least until monday! Haven't got enough cello and ribbon etc to finish the cakes and wrap them. Someone even said to her that it was for me but she ignored them and gave it to this other office! The one time they seemed incapable of ringing DH and checking before giving it to anybody, I am so mad!
At least I can look on the brightside I have 9 cakes virtually ready for next time!

Liz_uk in answer to your question how many nappies, it depends on the size of nappies. I have used size 3 this time and used 44 I think for a cake with nothing in, but ended up at about 35 when you take out some nappies to replace with other bits.

    What rotten luck:(
  • If you have an Ikea near you they usually have really cheap soft toys - DD bought a lovely soft teddy for 99p last year.

    Similar to this one http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00141401
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Oooh thanks Shelley, There's an M & S outlet not too far from me so might be worth a look. Last time I went into Asda they had heps of lovely teddies. Am going tomorrow so will have a look but it is an absoloutely enormous Asda so not sure what would be elsewhere. I really fancy doing the character cakes like beatrix potter and miffy etc as think they do look alot more expensive and more professional. The 3 tier cake I have done in Blue tonight has eyeore on top and he looks really good! (He's not suitable for under 18 months though but I have put his card inside the cake so they know that and will also state on my ingredients card. Can't see it being too much of an issue as not many babies short of teddies from birth!

Awww becs sorry to hear bout the mix up but like u say ur nearly ready 4 next time, was just looking at the link padingtondoo posted an saw these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00141397
i think they look lovely for the top of ur cakes? x good luck x

Thanks everyone it is so frustrating. I guess it will teach me not to leave restocking of these things to the last minute! It is more annoying because I can get to a wholesaler (I used to do floristry and gained access then to florists wholesaler) but knew I wouldn't have a chance to get there so ordered from www.flowerexperts.com so have had to pay £7.50 p & p and probably a wee bit more than the wholesalers prices just to get the order here fro the craft fayre! Never mind just hope can track it down on monday-it's been sent to the wildlife trust office so hope it's still there!
Thanks Paddingtondoo and Lickulmiss for the Ikea links. Nearest one is about 45 miles away but should be going next week as need to replace our kitchen lights! (Bought some from there a few months ago and transformer has blown) Had no lights in the kitchen since July but as it's been light in the evnings haven't worried until now! Will have to have a good look round when I go. Sure they have more in store than on the website aswell.

Becs - what a shame you had to cancell your stall. You must be so disappointed! I was looking forward to seeing your pics.
Is anyone having trouble finding baby toys for girls. Have got "jungle" animals and teddies for boys but all I could find for girls is rabbits - and i've got loads of them! You put put 2 in a box and when you take the lid off, there's 6 more!!! LOL.

Loved the mouse from Ikea but there isn't one near me.
