    Hi all,

I thought i would lighten the mood and post a pic of my latist cake:

I would also like to thank everyone on here for your inspiration & help.

Wow that looks beautiful! Where did you get the bootees, hat and bib from? Can I ask if your blanket is a knitted one? hard to tell from the picture. I have seen some lovely knitted ones but not sure how they would work on a cake, not sure if anyone has used knitted ones before? (chatty?)

After my post today about doing the craft fair and needing Personal Liability Insurance etc. I have decided to decline the offer of the table. I at this early stage can't justify £100 for the stall and insurance, on top of that stock, leaflets, etc. It was just TOO big a fair for me to start on.

Ok so I will never make my millions by not taking a risk but I have to put my sensible head on:o

    There is always next year;)
It is a lot of money but like you said there is always next year

Shame about the fayre Irlip, as you said there is always next year, and next year you will be well known and loved for your lovely cakes ;) I think the prices they charge are extortionate. I still haven't found one locally to me and to be honest I dont think I am looking in the right places.

Rusty let me assure you I have PLENTY of real things in life to worry about but I will not stand by and let ANYBODY be subjected to any kind of unnecessary behaviour.
As for being the first on the bandwagon, what a ridiculous thing to say, I would be making exactly the same comments for anyone in this situation and it is nothing personal. If you choose to see it as such on the basis of what I really do not know, then that is for you to believe. I've never had any problems with you Rusty, I frequently comment on your cakes as that apparantly seems to be the deciding factor on whether someone has a problem with you and yet you still believe this is about something that it isn't. As far as I am concerned I've had my say with what I've seen on both websites, the issue is with you and Bella, you have to resolve it between you. I don't wish to discuss the issue any further as it has really spoilt what was a fantastic thread and I really hope it will continue to be so.

A good place to start off selling nappy cakes and this may sound silly is a car boot loads of people go to car boots just take a few with other car boot stuff its cheep and a great way to get your name out there and just think how many people go to car boots a lot more then what go to local carft fairs.

its how i started 4 years ago with my cakes i was also doing some carft fairs with my hand made cards as i have been making them for 6 years now

A lot of the booties up here don't allow new goods, not sure if they are classed as a new good or not? I would say they are but then I would say they aren't on the same basis?

I can get a stall on the local market really cheap and of a fair size, but at the minute it is just not feasible as bills are a priority!

I could pick out several websites that have pretty much that exact wording so maybe Bella copied from them? oh no sorry Bella hasn't copied from anyone!

    Rusty,
This is the sight I used to help me:

Now how on Earth can you accuse me of copying!!!!

I have thanked you countlesss times Rusty and have commented on your cakes- sometimes like you normal life gets in the way and I dont get chance to comment about everybody's cake all the time. I'm sorry you think I have left you out and if I have done then apologise from me :o. I have no issues with you at all apart from the website.

However, why this whole 'not up your standards'? I feel quite insulted to be honest. I have stated in the past how i think peoples cakes are fantastic and that even though we all do nappy cakes everybody's are all so different and wonderful in their own way. I am no snob when it comes to making cakes. I am no professional and far from it and I in no way think my cakes are superior in any way to others on here!!

Lets just leave it there now and try and get on
    Bella x
