Thanks everyone :) Getting investigations for some health issues at the min. V glad for the good ol' NHS but frustrated at the same time as it's difficult to see specialists and getting conflicting info. :( It's been an up-and-down sorta time - trying to stay positive and trying not to dwell but deep down I guess I need to brace myself. :o

Sending you lots of positive health your way La E! Can only imagine what your mind must be going through. Praying it isn't anything serious. Glad you jacked in the job... health comes first. Sending hugs :grouphug:

Today didn't quite go to plan, my 3 year old niece was dropped off at 10 am and stayed until 8.45 pm, thankfully she hasn't had any accidents, since the fire it has been averaging 4 times a day. My nephew aged 15 arrived at 3 pm and after dinner both he and ds took themselves to martial arts training at 6.30 pm and back at 8.30 pm. Niece is likely to be back tomorrow her other brother (12 years old) may also come round it depends whether he has training or not.

When I have finished here I intend to set the dw and wm to run overnight.

In addition to my list I also paid the house insurance, which was less than last year :money:and did some other bits of admin.

Morning all :hello: happy hump day ;)

Just a quick one before I'm away out the door to work. Quick list:
    Check banking, surveys and FPL
    Manky banana for breakfast
3 pints of milk going OOD today. May freeze as I want use it. I've used a pint of it (4 pint pot) already - I assume it'll still be ok?
Smalls at my mums, will be fed and watered so just my tea to think about. A pot of hm kale pesto fell out the freezer on Monday and cracked the pot it was in. So I defrosted it and put it in another pot. Think it was a sign for me to use it up ;)
Take washing off line before I go and put anything still damp on airer, ideally I'd leave it out but weather says it might rain before I'm back later.
    Hot drink for commute
HM jam on brioche for smalls

Think that's about all. Enjoy your day folks. Perps.
  • morning perps :) yeah I'd just freeze it as it is, or in smaller portions.

Quick post for me also, very busy time! I pulled my application for the position I'd applied for as they were not willing to reduce the hours. We'll see if it was the right thing to do. In the end I felt we'd decided to take the financial hit to support dgd and to amp up the pressure and time away from the home at a crucial time in her life (starting school and all that will entail - I've been told the theme of the first term is families meaning I'm worried about all the questions about why our family is different will begin :(), it just didn't feel right.

    Anyway things for today:

    * made madam's lunch. Oh has leftovers
    * going to the allotment for a few hours - hoping to get alot done :)
    * do sowing & potting on tonight :)
    * going to clinical supervision for work, not on my working day so will claim time back in lieu
    * while in town will change euros finally!
    * also nip to pound shop to pick up netting
    * grab something out of freezer for tea
    * do a small bit of volunteering - argh I can't keep this up my life feels out of control with so much going on!
    * read martin's email

That's enough! Happy hump day x

    Morning all :)
((Hugs)) to La E :( Hope you get good news really soon :)
Perps - the milk will be fine frozen, I often do this :)
DNMS, totally see why you decided to pass this job application up at this stage. There will be other opportunities when the time is right :) And don't worry about the school families thing - the focus will be on celebrating all the different types of modern families, not just nuclear ones, think single mums and dads, step families, foster and adoptive families, same sex parents etc :) And you aren't particularly unusual - I remember children from my school days who were brought up by their grandparents, and nobody really thought anything of it even then.

I intend to concentrate on gardening today - I have things to plant, dead heading and weeding to do, must feed the strawberries etc :)
Planted out into various tubs and pots empty or with spaces, some of the geranium babies I bought from Morrisons the other day. There are 20, which I thought was good for £3 :) The remaining ones can be put into larger holding pots till I find a home for them. I will try to do that tomorrow.
Did some tidying and dead heading in the front garden at the same time. I have still to do my large climbing rose, which is a bit of a mission as it is getting very big, but has been lovely this year, and if I do it every week, it will flower pretty much all summer :)
Fed fruit in pots / baskets - quince tree, blueberry and strawberries :)
HM meals from stores, will make a chilli later :)Done, loads left, used up various bendy vegetables. Also made a big tub of coleslaw to use up about a quarter of a red cabbage that seems to have been lurking for ages :o Jacket potato, chilli and coleslaw, can't beat it - quite happy to have the same again tomorrow :)
    Ebay parcel to pack Done
Also invoiced a buyer who hasn't paid yet
    Post office Done
Bit of ironing :eek:Not done this yet :o
Put camping cooking stuff away in the crate I found yesterday Done
Check banks One done but still need to find the number generator fiddly thing to do the other one
Check for surveys Got thrown out of an Ipsos one (as usual) and did a few for onepoll
Find receipt for the printer cartridges I bought yesterday and put with business stuff Done
Went out with OH in the new (old) camper van. It doesn't have a functioning spare wheel, so we checked out a few local scrap yards, but no joy, so had to order one online at vast expense :( It also didn't have the tool needed to remove the spare wheel from its cradle thing under the back of the vehicle. OH went to the local steel merchant, bought the materials and made one :A That only cost £12.95, so that problem at least was solved cheaply, due to OH having the skills needed to deal with it :)

In fact OH has been a bit of a hero all round today - when I was coming back from walking the dog, I met a neighbour, and her dog was in an awful state :( It was covered in fox poo and stunk to high heaven, but more seriously, it had hurt the leg which had been operated on back in March, and it couldn't walk :( My poor neighbour didn't know what to do, the dog is massive, really overweight and far too heavy to lift. I came back to get some food to try to tempt it to move. OH came back with me, bringing an old T shirt from the rag bag in his workshop. He used the T shirt as a sling under the dog's tummy to support its weight while the neighbour and I encouraged it to walk on its front legs, and between us we managed to get it home that way. Luckily it wasn't far. It was much too heavy for anyone to actually carry and we didn't have a suitable thing to put it on the wheel it home. It is far too big for just a wheelbarrow. Anyway, I hope it will be ok - neighbour was about to call the vet, so I will have to ask how it is in the morning :(

I am sure there will be more, back later to update :)

    Morning everyone

Haven't been about for a couple of days, have been absolutely swimming in paperwork, I felt like everyone wanted a piece of me.
Just caught up with the thread now.
LaE sending hugs, I can't imagine what you are going through, take care x
ziggy I hope Mr Ziggy is doing okay and the op went well
DNMS sometimes you just have to go with what is right for you. I totally agree with DawnW, there will be other opportunities that will just be right for you.

The house is a tip so going to do some housework and catching up today.
The one good thing about being busy- u don't get chance to spend money.
Did an extra payment off IVA yesterday. It will finish on Friday. When the man asked if I had any other questions I asked if it was usual to feel flat at the end. I should be feeling really happy but I do feel flat about it finishing. My budgets and MSE ways are so totally ingrained in me now and I've been waiting for this to finish for so long, since Christmas it really felt as if it was dragging so a strange feeling.

The chap was really good, didn't expect me to say that but did say that he really didn't think the realisation of it finishing had hit me yet and that it will start to really hit when the completion certificate comes through and I don't have to make any more payments. I think im also scared of losing my MSE ways, I love hunting for bargains and although our May grocery challenge could have been better in certain areas, I love my budgets.:):):)
So I guess you lot are stuck with me to keep me on the MSE pathway.:T
Wrapped a Christmas present last night that arrived yesterday........I know, I know it's way too early.......but I will be ready this year:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well best go and send my completed paperwork in and then get on with sorting the house out.
Also have a birthday present to send-RM survey stamps saved for this
Have a great day everyone x

    Morning all,

Twins Thanks for the heads up on claiming back PPI , I'm going to have a go.

My DD came back from her honeymoon yesterday with a gorgeous new plant for the garden so I shall plant that this morning.
The garden is looking lush, so green as we've had a couple of days of rain and then glorious sunshine this morning.
I worked so hard yesterday , loads and loads of parcels going out on ebay and managed to list all of my new stock. Didn't finish until 8 last night so going to have a more restful day today.
    Plans include
    -check the bank
-have a look at the PPI claim forms
-Add another £2 to the tin
-Pull out mince beef for tonights tea, lasagne
-A nice long hot shower this morning and blow my hair.
    -Post our postal votes
-start thinking about our holiday next week and put together some basics to take with us
-Still no response from any of the creditors

Have a good day all x

Morning all, I feel refreshed after a much needed early night.

I have brought in leftover pizza for lunch and already have packet soup there for breakfast. Dinner might be some leftover lamb with mashed potato and minted gravy. I have half a pack of YS carrot, cauliflower and broccoli mix in the freezer so could do that with it.

Little bits of tidying up to do tonight, just enough to keep on top of things after my marathon tidy up at the weekend.

I'm seriously thinking about just taking the car boot stuff to the charity shop because it's just *another* thing to worry about and just more *stuff* hanging around. I don't have either a rail or a paste table and can't borrow either so to buy some feels like it would be throwing good money after bad.

    Hi May Marvellousos,

Off to work. Started the morning by opening a work email that made my blood boil. Now trying to rescue my mood before a super-long shift on the "worst" day of the week.

Need to make a serious plan to rescue my sanity too.
