I agree with all of that. Although things are still tight you know where you are now as far as incoming and outgoings are concerned (barring the occasional unexpected expense and that happens to everyone) and you are so good at managing a very limited budget. You should think about yourself a wee bit more and not be so tough on yourself. You have needs too and putting a little away for what you need or occasionally want is a really good idea. Don't feel guilty. You have nothing to feel guilty about.

Thank you for all the replies
I know the uniform was needed and to be fair they will spend 90% of the time in uniform or PJ's in the coming months! I think lothing wise other than a few bits for DD (leggings/long sleeve tops and some socks) then the kids are totally sorted.
If my diet of no coffee/bread and bad stuff continues I will need new jeans for myselfMy already slightly too big jeans are now definitely too big after less than a week! I think it will probably even out though and go back to being okay.
The banks still rather sad. Around £12 in the bank, £50 in the emergency hospital account and youngest DLA in a separate account.. need to sort her carseat and pushchair but waiting for the OT appointment to try her in some.
Kids wanted movie night so have had dinner and an early bath are now snuggled up watching Trolls before bed.
Might pick an hair dye up at weekend and do my hair, it's well overdue and I'd like to get rid of the light highlights and go back to one colour. Means I can do it myself and not wait for my sister.0 -
Yay to your mum paying for the shoes HI, thats such a big help and totally agree they spend so much time in the uniform.
We've got trolls downloaded too, love that movie! xxMummytogirls x0 -
I get my hair dye at the pound shop. It's garnier so it's not total rubbish, but this month they put it on the managers special shelf for £1.50

HI I'm rather concerned about you. For your jeans to be too big after a week is a worry. I think you're depriving yourself and I don't know why. If you like coffee what's wrong with a few cups a day. I agree 20 cups was way too much but 2 or 3 is fine. Please stop depriving yourself of things you like. Just feel a bit worried about you at the moment xxI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Oh will check the poundshop for dye tomorrow while I'm in town for my appointment, Thank you.
The coffee wasn't really the problem it was the sugar in the coffeeI feel a lot better now I've got past feeling rubbish because I stopped having it. I'm sure weight wise it will even out now I'm over the shock of giving them up. Makes me much happier knowing the annoying bits will go if I'm not eating/drinking the bad stuff, without going to far.

Agree with Sun Addict. Don't deprive yourself. The time has come for you to be a bit kinder to your self.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Agree with what TF says - your situation is SO much improved on where it was when you started your diary - while things might still be tough, you've made such improvements in that timescale it's been wonderful to see.
I also (no surprise here) agree with SU & TF about not depriving yourself of everything nice in life. Totally get the cutting back on refined sugar, but why are you listing bread under "bad stuff"? Do the kids still eat bread? If so I'm guessing you know in your mind that it's not actually "bad" at all?
Poundshop for dye is usually a good bet - they pretty much always have some form of well known brand in, I've found, just sometimes a bit limited on colours.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Things are so much better now I agree. Knowing things are sorted and paid for. No way I'd have been able to do the uniform etc without not paying the rent or something the way things were before.
The kids still eat everything as they did. Everything in moderation they even eat sweets and of course what I bake0 -
September goals

£200 to council tax - £/100
£120 Groceries - £/£120
£100 to other debt £/£100
Make £5 a day £150

I feel like it's cheating including a goal for no spend days as generally we have 5 nsd a week anyway! We walk to school and I'll walk to work. We will all take pack lunches except DS who is on school lunches for now. So don't think there's much I can change there.
Not including dieting goals because I'll just set myself up to fail:rotfl: Will do that offline.
I'm sure there will be a couple more goals I can add along the way though!0
