Bake off is one of my favourite programmes ever! Will definitely be putting it on my list to watch, it's up there with F1.
Last night I caught some of the sugar free farm, some interesting things on there I want to try.
I'm not too overweight but I'm definitely not healthy. I live on toast and coffeeAnyway I want to get this sorted and some of the things on there where saying how much better they felt cutting sugar out. I think rather than a diet I need to look at making changes to feel healthier than focusing on the weight side of things? I'm really aware of my battles with weight and the lack of it. I definitely don't want to go down the road of those issues again. So much so I still can't/don't have scales/tape measures etc in the house because I can't trust myself
But I DO want to feel healthy and happy. Going to have a good try once the kids are back at school/I'm at work to make sure I sort this.

Nice bargains! I used to have hens, and we either had dozens or none at all. Do you know you can freeze them? Out of the shell obviously, stir with a fork to break the yolk, add a dash of milk and freeze. Fine for cakes. Make sure you write quantities on (guess which idiot didn't...)
Great price for the cheese. I buy it whenever it is reduced, grate and add it to the never ending supply in the freezer. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Also I was going to get some cocoa, but it was an outrageous £3 a tub in MrS! I stood and chuntered to myself for a bit but thought I'd hold out till I go to L in the hope that they are cheaper. I've never looked in Mr L let me know if you find some
I have Mr t's ownbrand. £2 for 250g I write the prices on the tub so I know how much I last paid and what I'm aiming for.
Never though to freeze eggs. Going to make quiches along with pancakes (the kids love real pancakes), waffles and obviously some cakesI have an anniversary cake to do too so that will take 12 cakes or so at least.

Well done on the shopping, Hidden. I can't resist a food bargain. Our Mr L and Iceyland are good for fresh meat reductions and I buy practically everything there when it's cheap and freeze it. Mr A used to do it bur for some reason have stopped.
I never thought about freezing eggs. Can they be used for scrambling and omelettes?Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
I think diet has a massive impact on mood so if you are not eating regular healthy meals HI then this will affect how you feel. Catch 22 though as I know when I am feeling low, shopping and cooking are two of the things I feel least like doing. Small changes though maybe like a banana/herbal tea or fruit smoothie instead of toast and coffee.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Your comments about eating/weight/health really resonated with me HI - I'm another who doesn't have scales due to previous slightly obsessive tendancies around them. A health scare late last year kicked me into touch - essentially I could see myself developing serious mobility issues in the future and realised quite how much I didn't want to end up there. I refuse point blank to diet as diets don't work in my experience - but what I DID resolve to do was as simple as "Eat Less, Move More" - and also to give more thought to the sort of food I was eating as although generally speaking we've always been pretty healthy eaters I was well aware that there was room for improvement.
Since the start of the year I've made a point of walking more, and log my foods most days during the week so I can keep a track. I promised myself at the start of the year that if I kept up the increased activity etc for 3 months I'd reward myself with a fitness tracker and I am now totally addicted to my fitbit! Although I don't know precisely what my starting weight was, I reckon I've shed in the region of 2.5 stones and I've dropped 2 dress sizes on my bottom half - from a 16 down to a 12. I'm not a member of a gym but do now make a point of exercising regularly outside - sometimes using the free fitness equipment at the local park. I've also got back to swimming which works really well for me and done at off-peak times isn't bank-breakingly expensive either. Try not to get hung up on BMI/weight etc but as you say focus more on doing things that make you feel healthier would be my advice - and you definitely need to make sure you do actually eat regular meals - you're cooking for the little ones anyway so you have NO excuse not to eat what you're cooking!
The sugar thing is interesting - I've not got a massively sweet tooth but did really look into the amount of refined sugar I was eating back earlier in the year and was surprised where it hides. I've not gone the route of cutting out refined sugar totally but kickstarted what I was doing by cutting back on it a lot and to my surprise really noticed a difference - notably with an increase in energy levels which surprised me a lot!
Final tip - don't put off starting things "until the kids are back at school" - start right now, otherwise you never will!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I don't think people would agree I need to actually lose weight, I would feel happier if I did though. I gained quite a lot after having middle child but now back to what I was before having my first.
I don't have a car so we do walk a lot. Town is over 2 miles away for instance and I do that most days (When the kids are in school) I haven't done as much why the kids are on school holidays because youngest simply couldnt walk that far, she struggles after 5-10 minutes. When they are back at school though I will be walking to work/town for appointments and shopping etc. I would love a fitbit but I'm not sure if I'd become obsessed with that then? Maybe something I could mention at my next appointment. I still receive treatment quite regular from the last fall of the wagon with the eating issues.
I do think if I could force myself to actually eat more I'd just feel better? But I definitely don't want to gain weightIf I did I think this would just make me back step a huge amount right now why I'm already struggling.
I know it sounds totally stupid and ridiculous. My logical side reads this back like wow that is stupid but I just can't help it0
