    Hi,

Saw the rice milk thing - have you tried making your own? Elaine on mortgagefreeinthree did a blog on it a few years ago.

    http://mortgagefreeinthree.com/2014/04/rice-milk-readers-request/

I've made almond milk (to stop me from going to the co-op and buying 10 other things at the same time) and that was ok but Ive not tried the rice thing. Anyway, thought it might help.

No I haven't tried although I totally forgot about that and I followed Elaine's blog for a long time and do use a few of her things! I am going to try this week now :) Thank you

im popping in on the slow cooker talk lol.

i've only ever used mine for a curry, and i put in chicken or beef, a jar of sauce (if i dont make own) and onions and mushrooms.

but i always need to use cornflour to thicken or leave the lid off for 15 mins before dishing up, to allow the water to evaporate... else it turns into more of a stew.. any tips? is it because the veggies are in (and most veggies are high in water content, and waters it down?)

    Yeah I think so.

I always put less liquid in things than I would do in the normal cooker. If it's still a bit too runny I just leave the lid like you.

This is a fab amount. I spend £40 for just the two of us and that doesn't include nappies/washing powder.

    No discount on the arrears.

My monthly payment has 25% discount already done, I haven't heard back yet about the housing benefit/council tax support
