  • They ignored my emails too Lizbee, but i am going to claim that I rang as well and got told my account had been cancelled and to keep everything, don't know who I spoke to as they put the phone down on me before I got chance to ask.

They're seriously not getting a penny out of me!

    Hi Tinalives

What a lot of trouble it is causing. I spoke to a friend of mine who works at the CAB, the advice I was given was to post it back, with proof of posting or write to them and ask them to pick it up as you had already cancelled the order.

  • What a pain in the @rse!

Well, at least we got a wok, and cost them alot of money in the process - maybe it'll teach them not to rip people off :-/

I emailed them 3 times between the 1st and 7th December within the cancelation period. The only response from them was an email on the 16th at around 10:30am.

    Balance Outstanding:  $9.98

I asked them at the time how to send back the original shipment that I received but there is no mention in their response. I will probably email them again about them requesting money and letting them know that latest cards received are not needed and are being returned.

Mmmm, I think this whole scenario has taught us all to be very careful about applying for "free gifts" in the future. ::)

I, for one, will not be sending for any similar offers due to all the hassle it's caused. It's just not worth the money, time and worry involved and it's not even as if the wok is superb quality ... I doubt if I'll be using mine much at all as it's just not big or robust enough for our household. ::)
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

When i offered to return the cards (which they let me keep) i mentioned that the reason was that i already had a load of the cards.
They were once given away a few years ago i think by tesco or asda, about the same time Jamie oliver/sainsbury started their cards.

  • The wok isn't anything to write home about! Used mine for the second time today and when Mr TM washed it, the non-stick started to come off!!!

However, I have a friend who applied for this offer a couple of years ago. She paid her £4.99 and then decided to cancel her order - put it in writing. They kept sending her the recipes, so she wrote to them and said that she had cancelled her order, had also spoken to them and that if they continued to send her recipes, that was OK but she would consider them free gifts as she WOULD NOT be paying for them. More arrived, they threatened her with court etc, she referred to her previous answer and threatened a solicitor's letter, and lo and behold - account cancelled, nothing to pay.

Oh, and her wok is still going strong after 2 years. Maybe I just got a bad one >:(
  • Well i got some cards but no introduction letter and no wok.........NO WOK!!!!!!!!

And i waited all this time....
