Sunshinemummy, check your pm's - and a belated welcome!
  • Hi all
-1/2lb for me this week. Trying for a final push of 2lb before our hols next week. Think I will reconsider my target weight after hols as I am not sure I want to go as low as I have set. Feeling pretty close to where I want to be!
    Have a good week x

 Hi strangers, hope everyone is well! Haven't read back over what I've missed the last 3/4 weeks. The truth is I've begun seeing a counsellor which I've found really helpful. Her main advice to me has been to give myself a break and stop putting so much pressure on myself to get things done (job applications, decorating, etc.), and conversely I have been more productive because I'm not stressing over it. I feel a lot better already and my home is slowly becoming a happier, more relaxed place to be.

I decided to give myself a break food-wise too, because I felt I was fighting battles on too many fronts and it was hard work. I did continue to weigh in and since my last WI on this challenge I think I put on 4lb one week, then lost 2lb last week, but I'm still hovering around my highest ever, and feeling flumpy.

I feel ready to start looking after myself again now so I'll join you again if you'll have me! I go on holiday in two weeks so if I can feel a bit healthier and less bloated by then that'll be brilliant.

    Today:
B - Banana and FF yog (no Speed fruit in at the mo)
    D - TBC as I'm going out
T - SW jerk turkey from freezer (1), with grated carrot instead of rice (we'll see how that goes!)
    HEA - Milk
    HEB - TBC
Syns - Sugar in coffee (3), jerk turkey (1), LUNCH ???

Will report back later with my lunch!

Wow once again you lot have been posting like mad all weekend. Think I am caught up :)

Well done Orlao, Matron Midge, Esmy, Always Happy, GettingThereSomeTime, Tweets, MadWithMoney and Mr Bubbs on your losses.

Hugs to WizKid, MoneySaverMe, Ruthy, Arkers, TakeItEazy, Beanielou and Abbafan on your sts and gains

Ruthy, I think ofsted is a valid reason for a gain. I've been through it twice as a school governor and it isn't a pleasant experience.

Arkers, that's just a holiday gain. Expected and will be quickly back off.

TakeItEazy, claim the NSV. They are as important as what the scales say.

Beanielou, take it easy. Stress is so hard to deal with, so don't worry about the food at the moment. Hope the stress situation sorts itself out soon.

GreenTiger, we all lose are mojo every so often. Keep on here, and keep the plan in the back of your mind, and your mojo will come back.

    Welcome Sunshine Mummy.

Missed you Tete. Glad the counselling helped.
Doesn't sound like you've done too bad on the weight front, with everything else that has been going on.
Of course we will welcome you back.

    Now for me.

Despite not being on forum this weekend, I have pretty much kept on track. Went slightly off with my food yesterday, but been so so halo polishing good the rest of the time, that yesterdays 4 syns over my allowed is nothing to worry about.

Body magic has been good too. Difficult to know exact steps, as I've realised my fitbit doesn't pick up steps when pushing a shopping trolley or a wheelchair, but pushing a wheelchair for 4 hours round shops on Friday and an hour on Saturday is definitely hard work!

Therefore, with 4 weeks of increased activity I just need to remember to tell my consultant tomorrow that I am due my bronze award :)

    Today's plan:
    Breakfast - fruit and yogurt
    Lunch - cheese salad
Dinner - Speedy meatballs and pasta
Snacks - Strawberries, raspberries, cherries, cereal bars

    HA - milk and cheese
    HB - cereal bars
Syns - salad dressing (0.5) and some extra cheese

Fingers crossed for a good loss tomorrow

Welcome back Tete; glad to know you're in a better place now and can start looking after yourself. I'm sure you'll feel fitter and less bloaty after a couple of weeks back on plan and you can go away and enjoy your holiday.

Brilliant posts Kathryn; my sentiments too.

Today is going to be a red day as don't have the right foods in to do what I'd actually planned for today when I did my monthly plan nearly 4 weeks ago! Happens quite often towards the end of the month where I've used food in a different order to originally planned.

    B - bacon & mushroom omelette
    L - tuna salad
D - keema kofta; raita dip;salad. May also do a jacket potato (HEB1)

    HEA - milk
    HEB1 - jacket potato
HEB2 - not sure but may have some crackers or hifi bar - or both!

Hi all - hope everyone is keeping well.

I have been pretty good with staying on plan this weekend, although the exercise did drop off.

fingers crossed for a 1 lb loss at tomorrows WI as that would see me hit my 1 stone award and the half way mark.

Also looking for some suggestions from you all - I will be cooking for 1 for just over a week and am looking for ideas that I can batch cook and use through the week - any suggestions?

    Thanks and hugs to all

I batch cook chilli, curry and Bolognese.
I tupperware it up with the rice or pasta, so it is just ready to shove in the microwave.

Also lasagne made up in foil trays is good. Make it to the 'in the tray' stage and then freeze, then just remove the lid and shove the tray in the oven on a baking tray when you want it.

Not very summery recipes, but I find batch cooking is better on wintery dishes, and the weather isn't very summery anyway at the moment

Well done for staying on plan over the weekend, it's always the hardest time to stay completely on plan.

    Good luck for WI tomorrow.

It might be worth having a look at the SW website; I'm sure I've seen a feature entitled cooking for one.

Things like omelette are easy to do for one. Or a fry up. Various salads such as pasta salad, rice salad, bean salad. Again have a look on line.

Might even be worth having a scan through the MSE Cooking for One on the Old Style board - although a lot of the things they seem to cook are not very SW friendly but I'm sure there's a few things if you have a bit of time to skim read!

If you can get to Iceland there are the SW ready meals & soups which would save you some time and effort. You'd only need to do some extra Speed veg to go with them and they'll do 2 meals then.

    HTH.
