Hi All - I'm hoping for some help on finding the best low syn options when you don't have the product in front of you/know exactly what you want to buy...
I'm craving fish and chips.
I can't stand breading at home (I always make a mess and hate raw egg on my fingers) so want to buy something pre-made and I'll make wedges/peas to go with.
I'm trying on the site, but because I don't know which products are actually on sale in which shops, I'm getting all confused over what's the best option.
TL;DR - Can someone recommend a nice ready to cook fish or fishcakes (Ideally breaded and big:D) from Lidl or Co-op that's less than about 7 syns?
Or... can someone tell me how I'm using the database wrong?Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

I know you've yet to decide on your dinner ruthy but make it a big one and full of Speed! You've not had much food planned for the day.

I had a big bowl of HM kedgeree, with fish, rice, egg, onions, cauli & peas. Feeling full but craving something sweet now10lb to lose & keep off in 20204.5lb/10lb:rotfl:0 -
Well done for SOTW, Kathryn, :j and sorry to hear about the undeserved result tonight!
Welcome to all newbies and all returners... :hello:
Well done on such a fab first week loss, Mrs_Ryan! :T
Glad you had such a great holiday, MissTeach - you'll soon knock that gain off!
Today's HExB turned into a Salted Caramel hi-fi bar - just wasn't hungry enough after (a massive) dinner to merit having anything bigger! Also had a mint Tim Tam today at work (colleague just been on holiday to Australia and brought them back for us all to try). Who was talking about not being able to upset/disappoint friends when they try to give you something nice...?! Yep, I'm guilty of that one, too! - no idea of syns, but it was quite like a Penguin so I am synning it as 5½ which is what the WLP says it is for a mint Penguin!
Tomorrow's plan is
B: Cheese (HExA) omelette with mushrooms & tomatoes
L: Leek & potato soupSW Chicken in black bean sauce, served with a big "side" salad - not tried it before, so hope it will be tasty!
HExB: tbc...
Syns: I fear an Anzac biscuit may make an appearance in tomorrow's final menu plan...! :rotfl:

ariania - Lidl Ocean Trader Light & crispy Breaded Cod fishcakes (4 pack frozen) are 80g each and 4 syns.
Co-op fishcakes 50g each are 2 syns and come frozen in a 10 pack.
Doesn't seem to be any breaded whole fish below 7 syns.

My feet feel like they have done about 6499,83568,8345,247 steps today :eek:.Since I had the day off, didn't have to rush to work,I thought I would get lots body magic by walking the kids to school, and let them ride their bikes. So I walked a mile to school, returned a mile home.In the afternoon I collected one of them at 3.30pm,walked home while she cycled.About an hour later I did another walk to school and collected other daughter, who had stayed behind for an after-school club.So that's 6 miles' worth.Plus a day of housework. My feet are killing me.
Definitely need to go shopping-running very low of the basics,Definitely no speed foods in the house. No fruit at all, actually, apart from an avocado.
Today's menu:
Breakfast:bacon,eggs,baked beans,mini plum tomatoes
Lunch: leftover vege finger (2 syns),mash potato(2.5 syns),carrot, peas.Followed by strawberries
Snack: rice cakes (3.5 syns)
Tea: honey and soy sauce chicken.[STRIKE].Don't know how to measure syns in this, but chicken marinade included just under 125 ml honey, but not all of that is served up (most excess is drained off),then any sauce that is cooked,is divided between 6 of us.My head is too tired to work it out.[/STRIKE].Right,I have measured out how much marinade was leftover,so how much was used for a meal for 6 people .My share was 3.5 syns for the meal.Phew!
Served with rice.
Just before tea, knowing I would be having no speed with tea,I had a large slice of honeydew melon
Snack: coconut yoghurt 1/2 syn
Snack: 1 Alpen bar and a Hi Fi bar for HEB

Hello again, HorseyKaz.
Congratulations on SOTW award, kathrynha. Thanks for keeping us right, shala.
I need to take lessons from you, piglet, re tearoom v picnic!
I think we may need to get another target sofa now, if it’s getting crowded. Well done, all of you who managed to get a space on it.
Well, today went reasonably well SW wise and I stuck pretty well to my plan. I got my melon – yay! I had it with a WW raspberry yogurt. I had to make do with 2 Tesco HL Cumberland sausages for 1 syn and I substituted onions and mushrooms for the broccoli. I was left to my own devices in the evening so I had a curly wurly (6 syns), so I finished on 10 syns.
Wednesday
