Morning folks
Another week has flown by...
Had a good productive weekend. Adventurising with the dug and taming the wilderness of the back garden...
This morning I am all achy, same as after a good work out, so all that spadework paid off in different ways
Hope everyone else had a good weekend

Afro' folks
Been busy and enjoying re-claiming the back garden with one of my neighbours...
We have sectioned off the two drying greens, uncovered the overgrown paths and are currently trying to re-establish the large lawn area.
Thanks to Pippi for the advice
Plans are afoot to establish a hedgerow around our garden to help prevent the surrounding jungles from encroaching on our wee oasisWe are looking at planting a double rowed hedge between Nov - Mar which should be established in about 4-5 years or so... a "wildlife promoting" hedge with a mix of species but mostly blackthorn based.
Thankfully, it looks like it was once a well maintained garden, which has made it a wee bit easier to knock it back into shape.
The dug is enjoying herself in there and has amassed a collection of golf and tennis balls to play with
Looking forward to getting back into it when I get home today
Have a great day folks

That's great, US. I don't have a garden just a little outdoor porch kind of thing which, (even if I say so myself) is looking really lovely with all the potted plants I've put on it. I always feel it's such a waste when people have gardens that they don't look after. I realise that not everybody has the time, inclination or is physically able to garden but doesn't it just make such a difference to an area when it's well maintained. You've inspired me. My next door neighbour has mental health issues but is always admiring my plants. I think I'll buy her a couple (they don't cost very much) and try to cheer up her little area as well. I'm sure she won't mind,Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0

That's a lovely idea Toni'sfriend
It does make a difference to an area to see a tidy well maintained garden. I think nice gardens and flowers are so uplifting as well.
My wee mammy loves her flowers but she's not as able as she once was (would never admit that though) and was struggling when she had her old place with a big garden. Where she is now she has loads of lovely wee planters all along the front and back door areas of her wee hoose that she loves to look after and she finds much easier to cope with. She's in nice wee sheltered housing estate and the council lads (and lassies) really do make every effort to keep the area nice for the folks that live there. So my mum is happy that the area is nice and well looked after.
