Today I had a really useful video conversation with Sean Keane via Google Meet (similar to Skype). Flux Federation own the worldwide PowerPack brand which has good market acceptance and penetration in Oz and NZ. They are starting to engage with other UK energy suppliers with a view to relaunching the concept in the UK. Sean is the person to communicate with if you want your opinions to be heard. I recommend that more of you interact.

were wondering if anyone would like to have a chat with us around their
    experience interacting with our product?
If you do have any interest in a having a conversation and giving us

Another useful peice of information to emerge from my meeting is that 1st generation smart meters should in the next year receive an automatic firmware upgrade which will enable any energy provider to take readings remotely without the need for SIM swaps. Should eliminate the need for meter readers and customer meter reads.

Thanks for your post. If they do relaunch with another supplier I would be very interested in signing up.

Millions of SMETS1 meters have already been enrolled with, and adopted by The DCC. The programme started early last year.

Thanks. My two SMETS1 meters are impatiently waiting.
"Unfortunately, the DCC is unable to provide consumers with exact dates for the migration of their meters. DCC and Energy Suppliers are working together to ensure the SMETS1 Enrolment & Adoption Programme is completed by the end of 2021. If there is a problem with migrating your meters, your energy supplier will arrange for second generation (SMETS2) meters to be installed."

Has anyone gotten a new bill from EON since being moved over from Powershop?
I get the monthly prompt to submit a meter reading, I do that then nothing, no bill or anything appearing on the online account.
To cap it all, the £260 credit that was in the account on Wednesday last week has suddenly disappeared to be replaced by a £0 balance.  That £260 was the balance transferred over from Powershop back in March, but as we use around £50 per month there should be a credit still left.
As it happens we're in the process of transferring to EDF (applied over the weekend) so will just wait it out but EON seem so incompetent.  PS, EDF not the cheapest but with the massive inflation risk appearing on the horizon they are the cheapest fixed rate tariff over two years for here (with no exit fees) so went for long term security.
  • Yes,
I got mine on Friday by email
    On 7th May 2021
    your balance was
    £230.40

    1. We have charged you
These charges are based on your meter readings. VAT is included.
    Electricity- £171.38
    6th May 2021 — 14th June 2021

    Your balance on
    17th June 2021
    £59.02
    Hi Mick,

We haven't had any meter readings from you in a while, so we had to estimate how much energy we thought you'd use. Send us up-to-date readings and we'll send you a new bill.

You'll find a full PDF breakdown attached, which you can keep for your reference.

We do not have an active Direct Debit instruction in place.

Please setup a Direct Debit instruction to avoid building debt.

Here's to a brighter future, together.

    EON Next
    Account overview

    Your current balance is

    £59.02 CR

They are reducing the credit balance that was transferred over and I am still in credit.

They claim that I haven't submitted any reading, which is !!!!!!, I now submit them on a monthly basis, the last being 1st June.

They sent me an estimated bill which I am checking later today.

I had my first bill from EON in May, but sent a meter reading last week and haven't received my June bill.  Like Equites, they've removed my £237 credit without any explanation.
I phoned them and was told this happened to ex-Powershop customers who sent a meter reading last week.  They weren't able to offer much in the way of explanation.
I'd really like to leave now, but nobody else gets anywhere near the 12.56 p/kWh that I'm paying up to the end of the year.
Only a small niggle, but has everyone else got a hexadecimal account number?  It would be easier to say 213574 etc rather than 7F4CD etc.  Maybe their systems haven't been set up very well.

    Thanks for replying.
Regarding the credit balance, the plot thickens as the last meter reading I put in was on the 5th of June so the excuse given to you by EON was, shall we say, not correct upon further investigation.  Not sure I have the patience to have an argument over the phone with them about this considering I'm switching supplier in two weeks.
Really going to miss the old Powershop rate as it's a lot cheaper than anything on the market round here just now (mine runs out at the end of the week).
Regarding account number, my account has three letters to start with then numerics after that.

I left in March and have only just received my credit balance after emailing and phoning them to get it. I am now considering a making a claim  for compensation. Not like the old Powershop.
