Dear Fellow Customers I tried getting a quote from PS earlier today to see if they have launched a new tariff for the new year.
I was somewhat surprised to be redirected, with no clear reason given, to the EON badged webpages where the quote I was given was the EON Fix Online v43.
The TIL information for Yorkshire is

    Supplier

    E.ON (E.ON Energy Solutions Limited)

    Tariff name

    Fix Online v43

    Tariff type

    Fixed price

    Payment method

    Fixed Monthly Direct Debit

    Unit rate

    Normal 16.515p per kWh

    Standing charge

    23.202p per day

    Tariff ends on

    12 months fixed term

    Price guaranteed until

    12 months fixed term

Exit fees (If you cancel the tariff before the end date)

    £30

Whereas my current PS Tariff (Top Shopper 2020 V2) is £0,1268 per kWh and £0.2252 Per day.
The difference on my annual consumption of 12,000 kWh is an INCREASE of £462.69
It looks to me that EON is in the process of canning PS as a "Failed Experiment" that was the previous organisations (PowerGen) "Little Baby",

It will be interesting to see if they permit contacts to extend at the PS rates.
It is also probably the reason for the future advance discounts being a mere 14%.

I suggest you check monthly what the market is offering for you Power and light!

Sadly you may well be right about Powershops demise. The 14% is normal for summer future discounts.
My contract for Electricity ends early March so I’ll post what offer they make.
Meanwhile today’s offers for me were Winter Shaker 38% discount for about 7 days power,
Simple Saver 19.4% discount for 3-4days power,
Little Extra 15.3% discount for 3 days power
2 June future packs 14% each for 4 days power

As above, fully expect Powershop to disappear soon and to be moving to a new supplier as previous quotes I've had from Eon were woefully uncompetitive.
Checking just now for here things have not changed. I cannot get Eon to even appear on Which? Switch Energy, but getting a direct quote from the Eon website their cheapest offering (Fix Online v43) is £180 more than the best (Symbio); of the big names EDF are cheaper by £140.  It appears that on the Which? site, Eon now brand themselves under the Npower name as the Npower quote matches the Eon quote and has the same name.
In the meantime the discounts this month are actually pretty good so loaded up on them, take advantage whilst I can (though making sure I don't have too large a surplus balance with them).
    • Winter Shaker, 38% discount for 7 days electricity
    • Simple Saver, 19.4% discount for 2 days electricity
    • Little Extra Pack, 15.2% discount for 2 days electricity
    • 2 x June Future Packs (hah, as if they will still be around then!), 14% discount, 12 days electricity in total
  • "The Hug-Bug" Special Pack is out today!
"The Hug Bug Special pack is limited to one per customer and available until the 10th of January, 11.59 pm. Get a hold of one today!

  • I got the same pack 35% discount for 5 days Electricity
  • So Long and thanks for the fish..........

    this just arrived.....

    Hello Mick,

Important changes to your Powershop Pro account

In December 2020, we wrote to you to let you know that PS Energy UK Limited, which includes Powershop, is now part of the E.ON group. This means all of our existing customers will eventually be supplied by E.ON Next. Moving forward E.ON Next will not be able to support the unique way that you currently buy energy through your Powershop Pro account.

    What happens next?

To prepare your account for the move to E.ON Next, you don’t need to lift a finger. We’ll transfer your account to a fixed-rate Powershop Lite tariff. This will be set at your current Top Shopper rate which is the cheapest rate that would have been achievable if you had bought all your Powerpacks with Powershop Pro. You will receive this rate until your Powershop Pro tariff is due to expire. You can see your Top Shopper rate by logging into your Powershop account and selecting ‘usage’ and then clicking onto ‘your tariff information’. We will start moving Pro accounts onto this new Lite tariff from 28th January 2021, but it might take up to 6 weeks from this date before you see any changes to your account.

Please note, if your tariff is due to come to an end on or before the 30th April 2021, we will hold your current Top Shopper rates until this date. Closer to the time, we will then let you know what your new options are moving forward. You can check when your tariff will come to an end by logging into your Powershop account and selecting ‘usage’ and then clicking onto ‘your tariff information’. This paragraph only affects you if your tariff is due to come to an end before the 30th April 2021.

    Summary of changes:

We’ve listed the changes that we believe are most significant to all Powershop Pro customers:

    Powerpacks
Once you are moved onto your new Powershop Lite tariff, at your Top Shopper rate, you will not be able to buy Powerpacks anymore. Any unused Powerpacks you have will be credited to your account and you will be able to see this credit on your account balance. Just so you know, our shop will remain open to you in the meantime, so you can buy and use Powerpacks up to the point you get moved to your Powershop Lite tariff.

    Paying with Direct Debit
If you don’t already pay for your energy by Direct Debit, we recommend this as the easiest way to pay for your energy use. You can set up a Direct Debit as your preferred payment method in your online account.

    Terms and conditions

Please note that our Standard Terms and Conditions have been updated to reflect the fact that we can no longer offer Powershop Pro to customers. You can access the Terms and Conditions here powershop.co.uk/legal/pro-to-lite-standard-terms-and-conditions/. These will apply from 28th January 2021.

    Transferring to a different supplier

If you’re not happy with these changes or the new Terms and Conditions, you have the option to switch to another energy supplier or tariff as per our Terms and Conditions. We’ll do everything reasonable to ensure the transfer takes place to your chosen supplier within 21 days of them telling us. Just so you know, we do not have any exit fees on any of our tariffs, so there is no penalty for switching away, and we will refund any unused Powerpacks you may have purchased and any credit on your account if applicable.
  • Question:
Does that mean I out to buy as many of the "Future Packs" as I can at 14%, before I'm moved to the new E.ON account?
    Discuss.....
  • I can’t see any benefit in buying low value discount packs unless you’re going to need them before March 10th by which time you will be on the new Lite tariff fixed at Top Shopper prices. By all means buy packs with decent discounts as it will still lower what pay until they switch you to Lite.
As discounts would be lower in summer the offer to fix at Top Shopper rates seems a good one especially if you can’t beat Top Shopper rates anywhere else.

Well no surprise, bye bye Powershop.
What I find curious is that Eon still do not appear in the energy comparison sites that I checked just now for this area.  The cheapest is Symbio which is still distinctly more expensive that the existing Powershop Top Shopper rate so will wait out until the contract ends at the end of June.  After that who knows, though won't be Symbio going by how one of our friends swears at them rather than by them...

Yip. Shame to see PS go. Apart from an admin !!!!!! I'm going through right now, they've been great the last three years; I have two houses with them and saved a fortune.

In summary of the changes: Everyone will be moved to Top Shopper rate until their contract end, E-On will honour that rate for the duration. If you continue to buy packs, it credits as normal and will be used when you hit that month, as normal. Future Packs will give you a better rate than Top Shopper, so buy them and again, they'll be credited.
Then two months to go before you move fully on to E-On rates, jump ship, because I was with them five years ago and their awful customer service managed to drive me in to an apoplectic rage.
