Thanks for the support everyone, to be honest it’s still a bit surreal given how little time our bear was with us. That said, it’s how I would like to go. Normal day, go to bed, don’t waken. Still, we are where we are.
it does however look like the rule of three applies. On Wednesday the verdict was that our washer dryer is beyond economical repair and on Fri, while working 90 miles from home, the car started to misbehave. Luckily dd was with me to take the edge of my panic. We had to stop for half an hour to let the overheated clutch cool down but made it home, the warning message stated it was safe to drive. Took the car to the garage yesterday. Likely to be around £1500 and no slots available for the next week and a half. I’m trying to make sure all work is local but there will be no Sunday coffee breaks until I’m back on the road. Net result was that money has been transferred from savings / emergency fund to cover these costs plus those relating to the ongoing work on the house.
today’s conversation with mr wii showed that I am back into travelling pounds range as I have dropped a pound - not really sure how and bs is within normal range. As usual, lots to get done but fewer excuses to avoid given the lack of car. Today I am grateful for
all on here for the unfailing support
goodish health results

Ouch to the washer dryer and car. Good news on weight and BS though."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2
