Sorry to hear of your tough week. It must be worrying about the tree.
"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -
The tree is a concern jwil especially when it comes to insurance renewal which is due next month. Dh’s view is that the distance from the house is to the trunk of the tree, I’m not so sure.
i had my mr wii weigh in this morning, the travelling 2lbs are off on a break so I’m down to 11st 13lb which I am pleased about. I did have a badly upset tummy one day so that probably accounted for some of it.
scones were made yesterday and the soda wasn’t as dh went to the shop. I got a firm date for the car to be repaired which is good as some on site client work is needed. I may still need a rental.
i need to create a structure for client work today as things are ramping up. Today I am grateful for

So Monday dh got confirmation of a £220 payment from an easyJet delayed flight in May last year plus an item sold on vinted for £35. Yesterday he was office based and I was delivering on line training through to lunchtime then had client calls through to my last zoom at 7. Things aren’t great between dd and me and it’s taking its toll. I think she’s too old to be living irresponsibly at home but wouldn’t want to ask her to leave. Also yesterday our renewal for home insurance came through from our current provider. It’s down by £70 a year which is not something I’ve previously encountered. It makes me increasingly nervous about the tree.
Also yesterday we got the final bits needed for the bathroom and the builder is currently on site. Right lots of work to be done so need to crack on.

I'm just catching up on posts, and I'm sorry to hear the last week has been a difficult one. I hope there's better news about your young relative soon.
The tree does sound like something to keep an eye on. I imagine that as it's not shed the big branches through storm Amy, that's a good sign, but it's worrying. Is there a time limit by which you are supposed to have your correspondence acknowledged? It's been a few days since you mentioned it.
Well done for keeping the wandering pounds away, though sorry you weren't well.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sorry to hear the news of the young relative. Hope things go well.
Trees can be a nightmare. A relative of mine has had endless problems……and they’re still not near a resolution. Hope you get a solution soon.January spends - £587.581 -
Well, we’ve made it to Friday though little has been cleared. I did however get my flu jab yesterday which, apart from a sore arm when I put weight on it, has left no side effects. In other news, dd is away for the weekend for which I am thankful and work is proceeding on one building project with the builder on site again today.Had a few nsd but spent yesterday while at the gp. Car is still off the road so I wanted to make the walk worthwhile. For all those out there struggling with how non resident parents behave, I’d love to say that it passes. It’s more a case of diminishing. Yesterday , as I couldn’t get dd to the airport, she spent over an hour and a half, using two buses to get to the airport. I did suggest she asked her father, who lives locally and is free during the day, for a 15 minute lift instead but was told he may be busy. I don’t know if she doesn’t want to risk a refusal but it seems fine to assume I will do these things.Anyhow, builder has just left for a while and I have work that I’d sooner not carry into the weekend. Today I am grateful for
Blue Lights though I can’t stop myself seeing anomalies with the locations some of which I’ve worked in.

I’m another Blue Lights fan.
It’s funny when you recognise the locations of shows. The new House of Guinness on Netflix has had a lot of scenes filmed in my home town and surrounding areas. Netflix seem to film a lot round and about. We laughed as they walked in a front door of my home town….ran through the building and came out in a town about 15 miles away in one of the shows 😯January spends - £587.583 -
Milann it’s the journeys that would necessitate drives the wrong way down one way streets that take me to the fair. I do think that the most recent series is the best yet.So, good news first. Young relative has what should be a treatable condition, they are back at hospital mon and tues. it’ll be the start of many trips but there is hope.
my mr wii conversation today showed me down a pound so I’ve actually been brave enough to update my sig. I’ve realised that not reflecting the losses gives me less of a disincentive to gain. I’m not sure if the less is down to less consumption of fizzy drinks or more walks while the car is off the road.
We walked to the supermarket today to take advantage of some deals and to stock up on some essentials e.g. hp sauce. We spent just over £34 for just over £50 worth of stuff so was happy with that. This week has shown how careless my spending has become as there have been a few nsds in part due to a lack of car. While watching tv today, I realised that just because a final goal hasn’t been reached, doesn’t make someone a failure. Going forward I’m trying to make “I’m not perfect but I am good enough” my mantra.
