    I love the mantra!

Good news about relative, and well done on the weight loss!

It's a very good saving on your groceries. I also find I spend less if I have to carry it: even walking around the shop carrying a basket helps s the weight warns me if I'm getting more than I can comfortably carry.

It's daunting to have major surgery looming, but as you say, this is being treated as operable which is positive news. Also that they will be on the road to recovery some weeks before Christmas.

It's nice your DD has given you a hand with the house. Once they get to adulthood it's harder to push for that!

I hope the car is sorted out today and fit for use before you have to pay for a taxi.

It all sounds positive! Especially the shower, the visit and getting on with DD. A shame about the cost of the car work but at least all is safe and if you make a note of the things you weren't happy with, you can use that to your benefit in future.

Holiday prep is a good motivator for getting your head down and ploughing through work in the short term. I hope you can feel you've made progress there.
