I’ve had a few really hectic days - a combination of home and work stuff. Still I cashed in last month’s sb bonus and am now sitting on 6255. Hopefully I will get a few more tomorrow as weekends tend to be quiet.Today I finished off with one client for the year, not the biggest one cash wise but still good to get a contribution towards the end of Jan payment to hmrc. Last year I withdrew all earnings at year end but would love to cover my tax bill without the need to transfer funds from savings to the business account. Given that the bulk of what I will pay will be a prepayment towards this year’s tax, I’m happy to fund it from this year’s income.A specialist plasterer was here yesterday so we are now one step closer to the hall, stairs and landing being done. I’ve also sourced an upholsterer to recover an elderly chair and even older footstool so these will hopefully be dropped off tomorrow provided my replacement washer dryer arrives early enough. There is also a car full of old carpet and underlay to go for recycling thanks to DD’s decoration of one of the downstairs rooms.Today I am grateful for
dd’s decorating work

Today’s total is 6280 with a further 2 guaranteed once the laptop is fired up. Yesterday was a bit manic with medical appointment at 9.30 where eye drops were applied so driving was ruled out. I’m quite happy that I did both 45 minute walks. New washer dryer was delivered but while it fits, the dispenser drawer can’t open. It means the dishwasher is also disconnected. DD continued with the decorating and we have discovered a previously unknown damp problem that the builder is coming to look at today. I hope the use of the dehumidifier doesn’t cost too much. DH has been in the office extra days this week so there will be an electricity saving there. The person booked to decorate the larger room has gone off radar so panic is hitting. Yesterday dd and I took two items in needed of recovering to an upholsterer and picked the fabric. By the time DD’s selection was added in plus previously unknown carriage costs, the price had jumped by £200. Then their card machine wasn’t working so cash is needed for a 50% deposit.
we also managed a run to the recycling centre and got rid of old carpet, underlay and empty paint pots while addressing low tyre pressure at a nearby petrol station.Last night I made the executive decision to have a chippy tea resulting in sighs of relief and empty plates all round. Lots to get done this weekend so need to get underway.

SB up to 6339 after doing automatic awards this morning. Yesterday was a busy day with some things resolved. Painter will be here on Tuesday, carpets to be laid on Fri, struggling to empty a room. Builder called by yesterday and identified a missing slate that coincides with the dampness. An easier remedy than I had dared hope for. The painter also does roof work so I’ve asked him to bring a slate with him on Tuesday. We have a kind of washing machine fix when I realised that we don’t use the drawer to dispense washing liquid, it goes into the drum. I’m now using conditioner in the same way. So far I’m impressed with the three loads of laundry done plus the dishwasher is back in use. All food yesterday was from stores and an nsd was had. A few more items to go have been identified which is good and the car boot has been loaded for a trip to recycling when I meet my friend for coffee this afternoon.
and the bad news is that my weight is creeping up again but happily not enough to jump a pound.
today I am grateful for
