It sounds like a great holiday.I don’t like paying big bills 😂 it has to be done though and a great feeling knows the cash is there to do it 👍
Well done to Dd sorting the builder to do the painting. It’s going to look great.January spends - £587.582 -
It sounds like a lot of things going in the right direction. @jwil's idea about paying the cc bill in bits is a good one. Especially well done on weight control!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thanks everyone, having posted on here kinda forced me to bite the bullet and pay the credit card. I hate to see bank account balances take a hit. Managed dinner from stores yesterday and dd sorted a kitchen cupboard. The lurgy hit dh hard and most of the day was spent in bed in our room where I had stuff that I had intended to sort.
located a packed away item that means two things can be listed to go from the house.
lots of work to do so need to make a start. Today I am grateful for
yesterday being a restful day

I have had a major light bulb moment. I don’t go to shops when I’m not carrying my loyalty cards. I haven’t changed back from using my holiday purse so didn’t stop into shops I was passing that I would normally visit. Guess what? No one starved.
of Course this only works for people like me who refuse to install apps on my phone. It’s definitely a lesson for me.
so far this week have been running around days with only small bits getting done. Roughly £850 additional work has been lined up for January which is a nice start to the year. I met a friend for lunch yesterday and am meeting another on Fri. Was able to offload 7 items that friend will make use of. I’d like to get to the market over the weekend to get some home made Christmas goodies and I really want to get as much work cleared to free up Christmas and New Year. Workman contacted me yesterday, he’s coming to finish some stuff off over the weekend and the painter is due next Thursday.DD wrapped a number of Christmas gifts yesterday to lighten the pre Christmas load and present lists have been made with some items sorted.Today I have an online meeting thereby avoiding a drive to Dublin so I intend to make a vat of bolognese and lasagne for tonight’s dinner.Nothing much else to report. Today I am grateful for
finding appropriate new homes for items.
the gift wrap getting underway.

All sounding good there
