That's good about the blood tests, and a fantastic post. I'm going to try and follow your lead."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

What a great post inod! I love the 'conscious consumption' aspect. Although I'd like to see you shopping at M&S in your evening frock!😁. Why not!
Also, your remarks on keeping in touch with people. Something I need to address as well.Have a wonderful 2025!❤️Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

The evening frocks are some of the items requiring alterations so my shopping in them is still a bit away but I’ll keep you posted SSG. Today started on a tiny high as my first weigh in of 2025 shows a 1lb weightloss bringing me into a new stone. I credit home made soup with this loss which means more will be made today. I also received an email confirming a £40 cash back on a purchase has been approved and our lottery line has generated a free lucky dip.
lists have been started and a teams meeting set up for 2 today to hopefully address some work admin needs. All babysteps I know but all going forward.
yesterday was an nsd and today is on track to be another. Although there are significant heating costs as, while we appear to have missed snow, it’s absolutely freezing.Food is from what’s already here and tomorrow’s lunch is already sorted - more of those babysteps.
today I am grateful for
weightloss - I know I said I was to focus more on shape than weight, early weightloss tends to come from my tummy as that’s where it generally all hangs out

Wow weightloss over Christmas 👏👏 I haven’t been near a scale for over a month…..you’ll probably hear them groan where you are…🥴
I’m too liking the thought of shopping in evening dresses happening.
Here’s to 2025 full of your gratitude notes…..very inspiring.January spends - £587.583 -
Today I am grateful for ms teams. Having checked the weather, I’ve arranged to attend a meeting on line as opposed to making an 80 mile round trip. We only have a light covering of snow but roads are icy and weather warning is in place until 11 this morning. With regard to the weight loss, this generally happens over the Christmas break for me. We tend to have more proper meals made and grazing reduces accordingly. Also, less nice things deprivations so fewer binge urges.Yesterday I started a to do list and even started working through this. Who knows, today I may even get around to issuing an invoice.I just need to crack on with things. Today I am grateful for
A relatively warm home

INOD you need to eat like it’s Christmas all the time 👍
Pleased you could work from home and didn’t have to go out in the winter weather.January spends - £587.584 -
Well my weekly conversation with mr wii shows a continuing downward trend. Not a full pound lost but enough to get me down a pound so sig will soon be updated. This week I put it down to a day of intermittent walking while my car was in for its pre mot service and later breakfasts meaning no mid morning snack. In ni, mot is done at a government test centre and that’s booked for tomorrow. Thankful for the thaw that set in yesterday so the journey to the centre should be ok.On other news, an invoice was issued and client work booked in. My vat return has been finalised and there’s not much to pay. The joy of lazy invoicing combined with the necessary replacement of the 4 in 1 printer.
DD flew off for another overseas contract yesterday which will last until end of March. Her only time back will be spent watching an Ireland 6 nations game with her brother that was last year’s birthday present from us.Some work has been done, but more to do. Little housework has been done and top up shops have been bread, milk and whoopsied items. The bad news is that the reading has gone in for this quarter’s gas bill. Grateful to Ernie for taking the pressure off slightly.
today I am grateful for
a dependable garage servicing my car
