Good thinking on the PBs. I assume they stop allowing you to invest winnings back in once you've reached the maximum holding? Not that I need to know, as I'm not going to reach that amount, but if you can't reinvest, do you have a backup plan for winnings? Perhaps one of the higher interest rate accounts where you need a notice period? Or save towards a specific target.

I love how you've renamed your New Year's 'resolutions' into 'intentions' inod! I've tended to give up with the 'resolutions' over the years as I never, ever keep up with them, but I might try some 'intentions' for 2025.......
Good call on the PBs! I'm up to the max with my PBs and find I do win something each month - nothing big - the most I've won is £750 and the least is £25. These winnings go into the Holiday category on my YNAB budget. Physically they actually sit in an Easy Access Isa account till needed. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thank you everyone for the good wishes and positive feedback on intentions. Triggered in part by the advent calendar from cupboard discussion, I’ve decided that the theme for 2025 is conscious consumption. No more keeping things for good or just in case or for when whatever needs done, gets done. Everything has to earn its keep. That said, no evening dresses will be worn for a trip to the shops or for gardening.
there will be money spent but on a kind of invest to save basis. The three initial big outlays are clothing alterations, watch strap links and navy work shoes. Also, critically looking at possible repair items may assist with declutter. In addition, I intend to clean at least 5 items of jewellery each week to get these to the point where I can just grab and go because they will all be ready for wear. The shoe polishing of my youth needs to be reinstated and I’m aiming to generate £5 each week and put this to maintaining a clean car.Much more gratitude is needed. I’m in a much better position than a lot of people and need to recognise this and safeguard what I have, in particular health and fitness. It may not be great but I should be grateful for what I have and try to improve on this.
so far this year, my relative has had positive blood test results(we are hopeful for similar from the scan), we have had pb wins and our target has been met in full. We are due our quarterly and typically highest gas bill of the year this month so jointly have £400 from the win to go towards that. We also have a bit of wiggle room to think about where excess monies can go. Workwise, dh has opportunities and I have some pending enquiries plus some ongoing contracts. However I also need to improve at time consumption and get a bit more disciplined in avoiding over delivery. I also need to cut back on browsing when I should be working.
my intention this year is to strengthen friendships. I expect to struggle with this as my default position tends to involve hiding under the covers and cutting off contact when stressed. I subsequently get stressed about reinstating contact and so the spiral continues. I’m currently drawing up a list of people with whom to start. One has recently extended not an olive branch, as we didn’t fall out, but a suggestion. I just need to take this forward.
I also need to give something back, I’ve done ad hoc bits for charity but am not sure this is enough.
I could whitter on for years, and would appear to have done just that. I just need to get things underway.

What a lovely post, and one from which I'll take a lead - friends and using what we have are important points for me, so thank you. That's great news on the blood tests. I always like your gratitude points: I really think the angle at which we look at things makes a big difference to what we see, which isn't minimising anyone's difficulties but it's easy not to see the good stuff at times.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living.
