At least fil has given up driving and the car has gone. To be honest, he was a dreadful driver anyway.
well, today is a red letter day. Last night I worked until after 11 but got my final pre Christmas report out the door. I’m so relieved. Christmas can start. On other news, ds made it home in one piece with only a 1 hour delay. Soon I will be up and out to pick up bread from the bakery, extra milk, mince pies as others have evaporated and some extra eggs.Today I am grateful for
ds’s return

As one of seven children, I can remember my father muttering about the need for a revolving door. I just can’t figure out how I feel the same when there’s only two here. My car is in regular use by both me and them, as informed by plans for alcohol consumption (theirs) but it is good to have them about. Lots of leftovers have been consumed along with lots of cheese but more remains and various soups have been made with cheap veg and frozen. Apart from that, things have been fairly quiet. We did a transfer to pb before year end and are now sitting at 90% towards our target. However, there are funds sitting in the business account that bears no interest. These could be transferred and bring us to our target and still have enough for the end of January tax bill. The downside is that I struggle to achieve anything without a target so may fall into frittering.
i have tried to pin dh down to targets, etc but his answer is that he doesn’t do ny resolutions.
as for my resolutions, I’m rebranding them as intentions. This morning I had my conversation with mr wii. In addition to there thankfully being no movement, I was reminded that I have spent more than 12 years of my life keeping track of my weight. While I could still do with losing some pounds, my weight is now less of an issue than my shape. I think my theme for next year possibly along with a new diary is about useful application of so much. The thinking needs refinement but not to the point where I don’t get started.
on that note, a list is needed for today. This will involve a trip to recycle, to charity shop and some meal planning. Tomorrow I am starting back to work.
today I am grateful for
a safe and relatively healthy Christmas

Glad you had a nice time with the children home.
I don't really make resolutions, but have ambitions for the year. Maybe I should be more specific!
Well done on nearly being there with PBs! That's brilliant. I know what you mean about having a target, I do much better with one. Is there something else you could aim for?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". not sure what comes next jwil but, i bit the bullet and transferred the money from the business account to the current account. will need DH to log in and buy the PB then will update sig. we will actually be £23 under the maximum holding as dh's childhood £2 investment remains. fingers crossed for a win that will level that out.i had to do a teams call with a nightmare client this morning and just thought, why not? i'm working for us and not for the bank who charge for my business account and pay no interest. one of many things to be changed.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
