It will be hard work this week but you will be able to sit back and appreciate it when it's done. Perhaps your sister would kindly house a few storage boxes as her contribution?
Especially if there are delicate things or files that mustn't wander, or some other good reason for having them somewhere completely separate.

Cherry it’s not so much the boxes as the furniture. We still live in our family home which means we have underused rooms. This room is ds’s room where I want to site some furniture that was my mum’s. As the room with a spare double bed, most of the time, it’s also where any overnight guests go. It’s never really been updated since being a teenage boy’s room. I’m trying to keep as much of the furniture that will stay upstairs so DD’s room is now worse than she ever managed, which says something. A desk will be going into our room which means a chest of drawers being repositioned. DH has worked like a Trojan but he really has some weird notions. He thought we’d just leave the old carpet down while the room was decorated. I’d say there will be a number of dump runs today after the application of a Stanley knife. At least they recycle old carpets for agri use.
this morning I had my weekly conversation with mr wii. It claims that I’m down 4 lbs. I double checked and am really not sure how. Still that puts me back to being at my lowest. I also checked bs and was in range. Need to get moving as there’s still more to do.Today I am grateful for

4lbs is fantastic!
I'm another who would have left the old carpet down! However, getting it out will be a dusty job I expect, because it might shed fibre, so it's probably best gone.
I suspect you are actually in my house - 2 rooms belonging to grown children into which other stuff has migrated. Describes us well, though I don't expect anywhere is as full as DD's old room.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

No I’d have to get rid of the carpet. There’s no saying the carpet level would be the same as the old and could leave an unpainted strip around the edge. This happened to a friend of mine and once I’d noticed it - I couldn’t unsee it…..neither could she. In the end we went around with a tiny paintbrush sorting it out 😂 It was a right faff 😏January spends - £587.584

Well, that was a week. I had three days of 45 mile round trips to pick up and drop off the decorator. That said, we are so pleased with the results and he was a lot cheaper than expected. He’s also agreed to do the hall, stairs and landing when we are ready for him. It was a busy week of meetings too though 2 had to be postponed when my tummy waved a white flag in a truly horrendous fashion. One needs to happen today and a piece of work needs to happen in advance. On other news, family meeting postponed from a few weeks ago is due to happen tomorrow. I’m dreading it but want it done. It may end up being quite emotional as it’s to go through old photos.I have also been contacted re talking therapies. The first of my six sessions will be on Monday which I’m dreading. On a separate note, I had a run in with a staff member in my gp surgery. I’ve spoken to the practice manager but still need to put my concerns in writing. That will hopefully happen over the weekend.Today I am grateful for
