Pleased to read you're feeling much better. 👍. Good news on updating the room too!
I hear your pain re. the wide feet! I have these too plus funny boney bumps on my heels that make buying shoes a nightmare! I live and die in trainers mostly! As with you though, I have saved a fortune as if I could have fitted into expensive designer shoes in my hey-day, my debt would have been much bigger!😳.Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

My diary: “Seasidegal's Scrimpy Retirement Diary!”5 -
So, where did the past few weeks go? I’m really not sure. Dd was home for a week which was good but disruptive. She left behind stuff to be posted to her brother so I took advantage of a tcb £2 cash back bonus and sent via Evri. I also added in 4 items from my mum’s that were from him so they have left the house. Two more items have gone via vinted bringing in approx £15. That’s 60% of the way towards a pb purchase. Some books and dvds went to ziffit so just over £8 due in. I also got a £25 pb win. When dd was home, we swapped a piece of my bedroom furniture for a piece from my mum’s. This sent 2 items to the bin, 2 items to the charity shop and 7 to a friend. I also found 3 unused of one item and 4 of another along with the ones currently in use. No money to be spent on these for the next year or so.So, it looks like a slow trickle of items out and pennies in. Unfortunately not such a slow trickle of money out. Car insurance was paid in full as was the rates bill. The boiler broke, two months out of warranty and was £350 to repair and it was dh’s birthday. We also booked our first post covid holiday and go in 3 weeks.I also got my reclaimed tax from the south but that was to my business account. On that side, I have accepted the need for vat registration is imminent so have engaged an accountant. In a way I’m fortunate that it’s someone whose work I know and trust but who I can engage through her employer.Health wise there have been pluses and minuses. After gaining for 2 weeks, I dropped a pound in this morning’s mr wii conversation. I need to update my sig. I had my referral appointment with the mental health team but it’ll probably be about 8 weeks before I start. Delivery will be via an external provider so I asked that 2 clients be excluded.Financially, I’m not too sure where we stand for a couple of reasons. I am content that there are funds available to cover the recent spends though not much more. That should ease once we hit August. Workwise, there remains uncertainty but contracts guarantee that my drawings and expenses are covered right through to next March. Right, enough waffling. Need to actually start doing as I have mislaid my business account sign in widget so some places will be tidied.

Good to get an update. You sound like you are plodding away in the right direction on all fronts. Ouch to the boiler.

You're headed in the right direction.
Slow and steady wins the race, though sales and winning on premium bonds are a nice bonus.
I hope you have a relaxing holiday. Just enjoy it - everything else will wait.
And here's to the 'right' provider for your mental health sessions. Don't hesitate to ask for a different person if the one you're given doesn't feel right, and also remember that however well you process any help, some things take time and you may also find lengthening the time between appointments, especially after the first few, is beneficial. It just gives things time to work their way through, and I don't think that can be hurried.
The other piece of advice that was given to me, and turned out to be really important for me, was to disengage for a while from 'getting better' and find some grounding activities that I could really get stuck into. For me it's been cookery and gardening but obviously it varies from one person to another. They give the mind time off and are healing in themselves - and it matters to take care of yourself.
(Cherry jumps off the soap box - they really shouldn't let me get sight of it).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
