Well, it’s been a completely mixed bag of a week. My IBS flared up big time on my birthday and is only just reaching the point of settling down. Many mixed messages coming from medical people that finally got sorted around four on Friday. An appointment has been made with the talking therapies team in May.I did one on site day, the other cancelled but I met a potential new client. A client paid earlier than expected and I transferred money to my pension plan. I proposed a new target to dh for any extra money and he has agreed. Every £25 increment goes to premium bonds. This week we have generated two as I got sb vouchers and the more expensive 2 out of the 4 ebay items sold plus I won £5 on a scratch card. We are going to give vinted a go but looking on there creates temptation.According to mr wii, weight has continued to fall. And I’m continuing to track items leaving the house.I found the house to do list I wrote up about a month to do. Some things done, others not so that’s my aim for today. Tomorrow’s work list has been drawn up.Today I am grateful for
continuing weightloss

Sorry hear about the IBS…..hope it settles soon and the appointments help you.Well done on the financial targets and getting back on track with the lists. Don’t be too hard on yourself if they don’t get completed - a list is a guilds not compulsory 👍👍👍January spends - £587.585

It's a shame your IBS was bad on your birthday. I hope there were some nice things on the day. If not, you owe yourself a random day somewhere to be 'birthday girl'.
Your finances seem to be doing nicely. And so does your weight - though I hope that's not too much to do with the IBS.
I'm finding talking therapies very useful, I hope you do too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I hope you managed to make something of your birthday. Sorry about the IBS.
Well done on the weightloss, and love the financial targets."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3 -
Happy birthday wishes INOD.
Commiserations on the IBS flare up. I recently had a stress-related flare up. Talking therapy helps: don't bottle things up, as the stress inevitably get bottled up in the gut (one's second brain).
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3 -

Well, what a difference a week makes. I’m up 2 lbs despite a flare up yesterday but it is what it is.I got on top of some work stuff which included delivery of the last element for the client who paid earlier than expected. I hate owing people work that has been paid for.I had a win on the premium bonds, 10% went to ds and the rest to the purchase additional pb target. DH set up a vinted account and while listing the 4th item to start us off, the first one sold. Only £5 but there’s interest in two of the other items. We went shopping early yesterday and bought a carpet for ds’s / our guest bedroom. It was more than I expected but that may have been due to our last purchase being more than 15 years ago. DD contacted yesterday to say she’d be home for a week earlier than expected so she may end up on a sofa or a futon as we are using her room to house ds’s stuff and haven’t got a firm date for decorating yet. Not ideal but neither is getting three weeks’ notice of a change of date. Once the room is decorated and the carpet down, we will be using some furniture that I got from my mum’s house. This is also currently in DD’s room.
things continue to trickle out of the house with fewer coming in. I treated myself to new pjs / loungewear from the sparks shop outlet as I discovered that 2 pairs of bottoms were beyond too big and had to go. I also got a multipack of socks that were needed. I discovered a plant stall seeking donations of empty plant pots so delivered 33 of those yesterday. I’m so relieved as I was holding onto these to avoid them going to landfill but had no where for them to go.I believe the dreaded meds are starting to make a difference. I’ve gone from hiding under the covers at every opportunity to some days giving things a go. I also don’t just sit and wallow when things get derailed. It’s only small things that are getting done but like the ad says, every little helps. I also know that I need to do something to tackle root case as I don’t want meds to be a long term solution.
right, I probably need to stir myself. Today I am grateful for
the broad fitting feet that curtailed my spending on shoes over the years. If I’d indulged a shoe habit to the extent of my handbag habit, I’d probably still have a mortgage.

It's good to hear the meds are kicking in. You are very right about the small things mattering - even some of the big things may be a multiplicity of small things, so count them all gain!
Hopefully the weight increase is just temporary: it can take a while to establish itself. The too-big PJs are evidence things are going in the right direction, though.
Mood-wise (if there's such a term), people keep telling me to give myself as much time as I need, and maybe that's something for you to bear in mind, too. We have perceived social pressures to get stuck in and be productive, but as individual human beings we are also deserving of rest and recovery time, and that can't be speeded up, it has to happen as we are ready.
I like your take on savings on shoes! I have difficult-to-fit feet too, I must have saved a small fortune! I've decided to go for the current trend of trainers with skirts even though it's new to me, because trainers are much easier than court shoes or boots.
Yay and hooray to the final mortgage statement! That's wonderful! Also the win.Not so good that there was a near-incident with the car. Is everyone all right?
