So my sleep was undisturbed by my cold so I’m clearly over the worst. Yesterday was quite a disjointed day as I had a funeral service at 12. Today I have a client meeting at 11 with lots to get done on either side of that as the next two days will be Dublin based followed by a Friday morning training session to be delivered. I will probably need to work over the weekend.
A client contacted me yesterday as they had inadvertently processed a duplicate payment so I need to refund that before work this morning. I also need to issue an invoice or two. As usual for this time of year, I appear to be running out of pre Christmas time.
I am also mindful of the need to clear the TiVo box before the offspring clutter it with must see Christmas programmes.
Right I need to get things underway.
Today I am grateful for
A good night’s sleep
Work that I’m looking at and not looking for (as a client reminded me)

Pity you had rubbish weather on your trip. Do they know why dhs leg stopped working? Pleased it seems ok now.
You sound as if you have a busy lead up to Christmas. Not long now:santa2:January spends - £587.580 -
Why would anyone know why dh’s leg stopped working? Who needs to see a doctor when it’s better now? There’s a lot of nagging from me over this along with a refusal to consider any further overseas trips for fear that if something happens, it could be classed as pre existing and not covered by our insurance. The on site work has cancelled in Dublin today and yesterday was an earlier than expected finish.
I came home via Aldi and Christmas cheese supplies have been boosted. I also stopped at sainsbugs and spent just over £10 on whoopsied supplies that were dated today so dh’s meals are well catered. This also meant that I got a further nectar points boost. I have done really well out of these.
I need to sit down with the various money off vouchers for the different supermarkets, make a list of what’s outstanding and see where I can get best bang for my buck. I also have shopping to do for my charity client so they may also benefit from my vouchers. I know there’s one for the sparks shop for which I have vouchers earned via sb. There is however an urgent need for cupboards to be organised.
Right, I need to go see what today’s crisis at the client is.

What an election result. It’s one that will hit my business hard re gaining southern more profitable and more interesting work. It will also lead to more expense in delivering the work that I have. This is not good for me.
On other news, work trundles along with some good and some bad. I’m disheartened by a lot that’s going on but hope the turn in the days may help this. No spends yesterday but still don’t have a clear plan of attack.
I issued an invoice yesterday which is good news. I also heard from a friend who is seeking assistance that I am more than happy to provide.
Today I am grateful for

I'm sorry to hear how your business will be affected, INOD.
It seems that your clients really value you, though, which has to count for quite a bit.

Yesterday I dropped dh at the market and circled the block as only 1 item was to be purchased. Although stocks were low, he managed to pick up what bacon potato bread the stall had in preparation for the return of the parasites.
I spoke to our missing builder of Friday evening and he’s inundated including doing necessary work for my client. I broached this with dh and he is up for doing 3 of the outstanding 6 items. Last night we went to the hardware stores, bought what was necessary talking advantage of the free woodcutting service and he’s going to give it a go today. We also went to t3sco and bought various Christmas and daytoday items talking advantage of £6 off a £40 shop combined with double club card points. We went around £7 over budget but were able to get some items on the list for less than expected. We also bought two items to get the benefit of a price reduction for the purchase of 3 and we got 2 of our usual 50 50 loaves at 10p each.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. So, broadcast was disrupted to consume a bacon and mushroom sandwich made with the 10p loaf. If I’d thought I’d have bought another and made a loaf of cheesy roll ups though dh May have wept at the cheese all being used. I also bought various 29p veggies some of which will be added to meat from the freezer to make a big pot of stew for when those staying for Christmas start to trickle in. DD arrives next Saturday, one of the friends arrives Sunday and the remaining two on Christmas Eve plus there are generally others calling in. I need to source vast quantities of onions so I think a trip to Aldi is in order when I’m close to the border. Once I have those, soups and stews will be the order of the day.
We switched on our old garage fridge yesterday and I started looking at where things can be stored. Once dh gets one of the tasks sorted, we will have a usable cupboard that will make a big difference.
There are still more things to be purchased but we are in day one of the new credit card billing period and dh has promised to treat me to my favourite take away for tonight’s dinner as he has a cash back offer that puts it within a standard price range.
Lists are absolutely the way to go from here on in as I’ve already missed out on using various vouchers and had to dispose of two out of date items from the fridge and I hate that.
On other long and rambling news, I had my weekly conversation with mr wii and I am down another pound. This means that I am back to being within 1 pound of being overweight as opposed to the other word beginning with O. I’d love to shift that this week. It’d be great to start the new year in that category.
Right I could witter on all day but that would get nothing done.
Today I am grateful for
