Very little progress was made yesterday. In fact, I’m not sure where the day went but I had a scary realisation that I go on holiday in under a week. There’s so much to get done and I’m scared that we will run out of time. DH was supposed to draw up a list of non work stuff to get done and he’s just shared it with me. It’s based on him assuming that lots of things will just happen, that time will be suspended and that delivery services can accommodate his specific requirements. And he wonders why I get stressed. For example, there is a lead time of 3-5 days plus delivery to get meds for the dog who is going away this weekend but he thinks this is doable. How?
Right, I could rant to next week but need to get a move on.

There are reasons some people don't end up as managers. That said, occasionally managers fall into this way of thinking, too (will not give details of my current work situation here but basically it assumes staff can be hands-on in two localities at the exact same time).
Now I am wondering if your DH grew up in a family with a strong leader who took charge so he didn't learn from his mistakes because it was all organised for him?
Of course he might be lucky and the timings might just work out in which case he still won't learn from it.
As for you, missus...I really hope you don't get too stressed to enjoy your holiday. If you slept through the next week, some of those things would remain not done, but the world would keep turning (which I know is a very annoying thing for me to say, but it's true).
If the dog's meds can't be delivered to you, could they be delivered to or collected by the person who's going to look after the dog?
Nice that you had a 'free' trip to the theatre... was the show good?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hope as much as is possible gets done. My dh is the same - thinks time is on elastic..
Have a great break and relax.

The total irony is that dh is a really good manager in work. He just switches off that part of his brain at home. So, I’m continuing to struggle big time with a t do list that would increase if I remembered to write things down. Today we will get dog meds and my meds sorted so one thing ticked off. We still need to pick up currency but that can be combined with a trip to pick up stuff for the client. The big thing is to get the payroll done on Monday. The other big thing is remembering to breathe. I truly find myself holding my breath without even realising that I’m doing it.
Tonight I have my reiki session which I hope will help.

I have stacks to do and am motivated to get on and do it. Possibly thanks to a good night’s sleep after the reiki session. However, one thing that I’m not looking forward to is sending furry face on her holidays. I’m ok when she goes, it’s the first few times I come home and she isn’t there.
So today I need to lodge a cheque, get pet food, travel money, stuff for the client, and possibly laundry detergent too as once the dog departs, we will get her bed laundered in addition to the pre holiday bits and pieces. I have worked out a loop that will give me a contingency option if I need to shop across two stores for the client stuff.
I can also nip to sainsbugs to buy whatever is on offer to gain me my additional available 600 nectar points. I have a friend calling round this evening when she finishes work so I should maybe tidy, clean and purchase a treat.
I’ve so much work to get through but the most important task, payroll, is close to my input being complete. Right, really need to get motoring.
Today I am grateful for
