  • Got the necessary Halloween goodies on Thursday. An investment of £30 of client funds provided the treats for 39 and just made the day a bit different. There was a subsequent issue at home that I cannot talk about but I’m so annoyed at myself. I need to move on but it keeps playing on a loop in my head.

Yesterday started with a client meeting where I bumped into the ceo as I was leaving. We had a wee chat and it turns out that he’s in a position to help out the main client in a few different ways. It’s great. It’ll help me and will also benefit the service users.

Yesterday an outstanding invoice was paid which is good so that’s three in one week. I’m thinking of buying more premium bonds to keep it safe for the tax bill in 2021. It doesn’t earn any interest in the current business account and I resent paying someone to have the use of my money. Next month will bring my balance to its highest ever with a few more months of the year to go.
DD has just texted to say she’s on her flight so I will need to pick her up. I then have a client meeting so she will drop me off, take my car and she and dh will head to the vet. Fingers crossed for that.

Before she gets home, I need to stash the various bits and pieces stockpiled for Santa to deliver. Thankfully we aren’t too far from the airport.

    Today I am grateful for

If you are not earning interest on the money, then might as well invest it in premium bonds - at least you've got a chance of winning something!

I love that you really look out for opportunities to help them. Between that and the Halloween goodies they have had lots from you this week.

    Enjoy your DD's visit. :)

Enjoy dd visit. Hope the fury one goes on ok at the vets.
Pleased you got the Halloween goodies.
Not long now until your holidays.
    January spends - £587.58
  • So, most importantly, the furry one has been prescribed a daily painkiller to be taken with her food. She continues to be in good spirits and has otherwise been declared healthy and happy. Sighs of relief all round.

Work wise, I got two things off my to do list and also issued an invoice. I also paid myself for the end of Oct plus my expenses which were a lot higher than usual due to long journeys.

DD goes back today via an overnight stay with a Dublin based friend. Flying from there saved £70. That means I won’t see her until Christmas as I’m at 2 clients today.

I had decided to buy a lighter weight laptop to take away with me. I think I’m going to pass on this as sorting out what to bring will just add to the pre trip to do list. I’m hoping to spend an hour a day while I’m away on structuring what’s on my current machine.

In other news, I had my weekly conversation with mr wii. It reckons that I’m down a pound but the number didn’t change so it’s staying as it is. On the plus side, it encouraged me to go back on the porridge this morning.

    Today I am grateful for
Completion of a task. Must remember not to volunteer for any more free work.

Great news about the dog :T

  • I know and the meds are clearly kicking in based on how she bounds out of bed in the morning.

DD has been and gone leaving chaos and disorganisation in her wake. She was supposed to sort out dog care arrangements for our holiday but hasn’t. We are not happy but it is what it is. Today I have client inspection and tonight I have reiki massage two of four. I was late coming for dh yesterday as I was cleaning and vacuuming an office for the inspection team. There’s clearly no end to my talents.

Yesterday I got home to an offer of £125 compensation along with a £100 refund relating to the po bank account I tried to open. It has only taken 6 months. I was then inspired to seek out detail on money that I should have received but hadn’t. So, the letter was found, the email issued and it bounce back. If I get a chance today, I will call the number and see what happens.

Right, I need to get a move on. Today I am grateful for
