  • What is this delegate thing of which you speak? I have managed to source some admin help for my business but it can’t start until the kitchen and associated rooms are sorted.

On Saturday I went to the market and bought some lovely things including some flowers. 2 bunches for £4 so that was one for me and one for my mum. We then tackled the kitchen and made good headway. When we got to the last cupboard, I could have cried as the shelf was missing so we had to stop. Builder says he will get it done today. I also did some more work in the garden but progress was halted due to rain.
Yesterday was spent in Dublin at a client event. That was about maintaining profile as opposed to fee earning. We stopped in at Aldi and made purchases that included a new dog bed. Hopefully the 4 legged one will be back at the weekend though I think we may hold off the new bed until it’s cooler.

On other news, my conversation with mr wii yesterday showed a 2 lb gain. This puts me at my heaviest since the bsd. Today I checked my sugars and they are high. The line in the sand has been drawn. I have a hospital appointment in four weeks. From today I am doing bsd light. So, the plan is to be bsd compliant until dinner I.e. cut out the rubbish, at dinner I can then have fewer carbs than usual but will have some. Part of me is afraid to go for it in full as I have no guidance re changing meds until after my appointment and I’m afraid of hypos.

Photos were taken at yesterday’s event. I looked at the ones from last year and they are dreadful. The worst thing is that, at the time, I was pleased with my outfit. I need to put that photo somewhere really obvious as a reminder. I know the focus should be on health but, what can I say, I’m shallow.

Right, need to get motoring though I could quite happily spend the day vegging out.

    Today I am grateful for
A nicely priced new dog bed
    Catch ups
    A wake up call

I’m another shallow one - I know I need to loose weight for my blood pressure and joints BUT have been piddling around attending Slimming World and zoning in to the bits I like and ignoring what doesn’t suit and what I should be doing - making every day a FLEXI day. But I was horrified when I saw myself in a dress I wanted to wear a for a wedding next week... I’ve been sticking to it like glue since Friday.....I’m hoping for a bit of damage limitation but not holding out much hope.....

  • Yesterday I overate but managed to avoid chocolate and sweets that weren’t sugar free. I did have a small piece of cake last night with a cuppa. My bs was down a bit this morning and I will take that.

I made some progress yesterday work wise and have other things that must be done today. There’s a half past six meeting that I hope will move quickly but who knows.

On money news, my savings went to my isa / the off set fund and I got my passbook updated and my sig reflects how things stand as of now. I’d love this to break the £1k barrier by year end but I’m unsure that this is likely. Another mortgage payment has gone but I haven’t input the revised figure.

I truly wonder if dh and I are even reading the same money book never mind being on the same page. We made dd a loan of £2k. £500 came from our current account and £1500 from our emergency fund money which is his isa. We have agreed that she will start repaying from end of September at £400 per month. I had suggested to him that since there were lunches available from the fridge, he may have £25 available that he could contribute to rounding it up to a £50. This was agreed. Last night he mentioned that there was approx £200 in PayPal and other little pots and should he maybe put that in the emergency fund?

What bothers me is that he was quite content to absorb any extra money while waiting for the repayments to be made. He withdraws a fairly generous set amount each month to cover a few direct debits from his account and his personal spends. Savings however appear to be my responsibility as is balancing the budget. I’m just tired of it. Until 2 years ago, I contributed significantly more to the household than he. I now pay in a lot less per month but at year end, make a hefty cash injection which, for example, this year has funded the building work, our annual rates bill, etc. This isn’t even acknowledged. Right, whinge over. Fair to say, the money is now in the EF which leaves only £1250 outstanding for it to be restored to its original beauty.

    Today I am grateful for
An unknown to me pot of money
    A deadline met
A weekend away from the client that was crisis free

  • Whoop! Whoop! Checked by bs this morning. It’s close to being within normal which is great. That’s in spite of being in work until ten last night and having toasted fruit soda when I got home for dinner. I did just have a half. I’m aiming for a within normal range tomorrow.

There was no gardening done yesterday as I was so late home so essentially no real activity. The trustee meeting last night did however approve additional resource for me which is a plus. It’s only one day a week but that’ll be a big difference.

Today I have to attend court as a witness. I’m not comfortable with it but needs must. On the plus side, I’m meeting the friend who went through the cancer treatment two years ago for lunch. She is doing well which is great.

    Today I am grateful for
A £1 win from my tv survey site
    Payment of an invoice
The continuing good health of a friend

Well done on the blood sugar, it must have been hard limiting dinner when you'd had such a late evening. Great that you are going to get some help there, too. How long will it be till that comes through?

Sorry to hear you have to be a witness, I hope all goes smoothly and you can soon be out of there.

    Have a lovely lunch. :)
