I must confess that this is my experience of self employment. You work harder for less money and more stress :(.

I like what Beanie said about what baby steps can you take about the things that are bothering you.

I'm glad you got the tiles sorted and that that manager is going to be sorted too (I hope).

Oh heck and I'm about to join the SE gang

Percy pigs and fingers of fudge sent by your Mum taste different. They are special Mum related items.

This is of course true. :)

Your tiles sound amazing. I bet it’ll be stunning once it’s all finished. Pleased that the work situation is sorting itself out and hope you find somebody to do the job you appear to be let down on.

  • I have to confess milann, it’s not Christmas for me if I don’t get a tube of jellytots. So, what happened the weekend I wonder. I’m not entirely sure. I did two hours at client yesterday, staff shortages continue and brought dinner home for my mum. Briefly spoke to my sister and we’ve agreed that my mother appears to be back to playing games. This is not good.

Yesterday morning I was able to get my hair cut and coloured. Not at my usual salon but at the one who were able to wash my hair when I had stitches in my face. It’s not exactly what I’m used to or what I wanted but it’s a lot better than it was. I have a meeting today and this will help.
I was also able to work on an invoice while sitting in the chair.

On Saturday I dragged dh to a shop that sells furniture, garden stuff, architectural salvage, etc. That I discovered while getting replacements for the 3 100 year old quarry tiles needed for the kitchen floor. I went having picked out 3 things that I’d really like. We left empty handed with him saying that it has interesting stuff. He has arrears of a pay increase that I thought I could utilise but apparently not!

We then went and did a small supermarket shop for less than £20 that featured 5 boxes of ice lolly type things. On the plus side, we did get the bread and milk that we went for. We also spent £3.80 on tea towels, etc.

We have a lot of protein in the freezer. We just need to do some meal plans.
Yesterday I had my conversation with mr wii. This had been missed last week. I have 1 lb off andam back to being overweight. I’m so relieved.

    Today I am grateful for
    Weight loss

Well done for being back in the zone, weight-wise!

What a shame you didn't get anything from the furniture/salvage shop. Could you buy yourself something and tell him he's giving it to you for Christmas? I love exploring places like that.

I hope things settle with your Mum. I know these things can be worrying and I don't think your sister has been all that helpful has she? But coming to the same conclusion might be a lead-in to a joint plan of action.

All the best for the meeting today, a new hair colour is always a good start!

  • Thank you. Yesterday I grazed but followed it by half an hour in the outside gym where I weeded about a quarter of a flower bed and transplanted two plants that needed room to grow. Fingers crossed that they take. I’m feeling really rather rough today, headachey with the start of a sore throat. I’ve just taken two ibuprofen so fingers crossed that helps. I’ve a lot to get through today so need to keep motoring. Not least is a stroll to the bank to make a lodgement. This gets done twice a week.

More progress was made sorting the kitchen last night. A space has now appeared on the table in the dining room. There were a few items that went to the food waste, mainly dried foods that were considerably out of date. I have my favourite drinking glasses back in the kitchen so these will be used more often. I’m trying not to keep things for best when using them makes me happy. I’d say we will have nailed it by the weekend and can then tackle the dining room / office where things are completely out of control due in part to it containing the contents of the kitchen. I’m starting to learn that slow is ok as long as there is progress.

    Today I am grateful for
Comfort food dinner centred around mash
Progress in the kitchen, garden, etc
A well done alteration, not by me, that meant I was confident in what I was wearing

    Just catching up.

Your tiles sound so lovely. The kitchen will be fab.

I agree with not keeping stuff to best, they never get used do they. Enjoy your best stuff daily.

Jelly tots, yum. I didn't think they still existed. I love Teddy Gray's herbal tablets. A sweet made where I live and particular to the Black Country.
