  • Elnora, thank you so much. When you’re in the middle of stuff, it’s easy to lose track of progress. Yes, there’s still more to do but you’re right, there have been inroads made. For that, I thank the people here who pitch in and pick me up (some without realising it) and help me to keep going. Like I have admitted though, I do have an inner verucca salt and want it NOW

Yesterday I had a 6.30 meeting and met a friend for dinner and catch up at 8. That made for a late, for me, night out. However, I slept better than I had, woke early and for the first time in 3 days, didn’t have a headache. This is good. Today there is lots to get done, I just need to find clothes to wear while doing it! I’m banking upon the house being reinstated by the time we get home on Monday.

    Today I am grateful for
    Good company and good food
Being able to link two friends for the benefit of both
A potential improvement for a client

You're welcome. Enjoy your weekend and I hope calm has been restored to the kitchen when you return. I'll go back to lurkdom now but will pop in again.

  • Today will be frantic with my last meeting to start at half six. I will also need to call with my mother, pack, find out what is needed by dd and purchase some items including tayto cheese and onion crisps to be brought to my England based children.

Last night I finally nagged dh to contact his parents about his visit. Despite him giving them two months notice of us being in London, they have arranged to do something at their church so aren’t available. They haven’t seen him since last March (2018) and I’m so annoyed about it. Really? Who does that?

I really need to get motoring. The kitchen is still not completely dry but there is other work progressing. We got home last night to no electricity. It turned out that it had been turned off to fit a new socket and hadn’t been turned back on again so that was a quick fix. Otherwise yesterday evening was pretty much taken up with work calls.

    Right, I’m definitely getting going.

    Today I am grateful for
Those who delurk to provide support (inc that relating to my IP address ms A)
A builder who lives close by
Receipt of a small cheque, every little helps

  • Today I am in London but taking things easy and lazing in the hotel for a few hours. We will head to the concert around 2 hopefully stopping off en route to pick up a free Vodafone treats mascara.

Thursday was a work day from hell but is over although the consequences will require a fair bit of management. Thursday evening I got an email- I love ERNIE. Another £25 from my tax money in premium bonds. On Friday I gotta £1 voucher win from my wee tv survey site. Then I bought online scratch cards from a voucher site for £7. This got me a£3 cash back bonus and i won £10. When I went to check that my purchase had tracked, I did the summer treats and won 20p.

We are also taking advantage of any possible perk to keep weekend costs down. We had breakfast between airport lounge and flight. We had access to hotel exec lounge so got nibbles that meant we only paid for a pizza hut deal for dinner. We take the free bottles of water when we go anywhere andstock pile mini biscuit packets. We also had free breakfast today.

It is so lovely not to be able to do anything and to therefore not feel guilty about not doing anything. Today I am grateful for

DH who may not do much money wise but who nails the travel on points thing
Wins, I don’t care how small, they keep me checking
    A £2.50 pa survey
