You can easily drop the added 2lb.
Don't forget stress affects bs too and that impacts weight, so don't be too hard on yourself.
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

  • Sorry you've been feeling fed up and comfort eating. It's easy to get stressed and down if the house is a mess and you can't cook properly. I felt really fed up when we didn't have a freezer and our oven oven stopped working recently. Life isn't easy sometimes, but as long as you pick yourself up and keep going then things will get easier eventually.

  • Thanks everyone. A plan is emerging. We are in London weekend after next. DC bought us tickets to see stevie wonder, we are using air miles and got a points deal on a hotel. That will be the week of DS’s birthday and we are all going for dinner along with a few extras we have unofficially adopted over the years. Two days after we get back, the 8 week plan restarts. In the meantime, I just need to try reining things in.

Yesterday I paid myself for the first this financial year. I also sorted out my expenses and paid those. I’d deliberately held off as dh has a tendency to just see money in the account and pay no regard to bills that need paid. Now that we are paying the builder, we need the money. I have upped my monthly pay by £100 a month which is still below my personal tax allowance. I also issued two invoices and have a cheque to lodge today which is good. Yesterday I rounded the mortgage down to below a £1000 mark then added in an extra £160 to cover the quarterly interest that will be applied next week. My new rule is to avoid it ever creeping up to a new £1000. Good job my mortgage is so low.

I was in such bad form yesterday that I blurted out how much I disliked where a picture had been hung. This picture had been bought by Christmas money from dh’s parents and was his choice. I don’t dislike it but where it had been hung made a wall too cluttered. I did take him more than 2 hours but it has been moved. He’s not exactly diy savvy. Still, it is done.

This week I have a plan to fire a rocket up the manager. There are things to be done and he just has to get on with them and I have to hold him to account.

It’s hard to function when the house is in turmoil. Do what you can until after the London visit. Then go for it..... :rotfl::DI so need to take my own advice and do what I can atm....the little things at staying in control really do count.

I do feel for you, it's bringing back memories of living in a house which was undergoing major changes and it's so stressful. Any progress on the leaking pipe?

I would miss the dog, too. :(

Good luck with it. I'm reading the BS diet book at the moment, it's fascinating!

  • They found the pipe last Wednesday, addressed that and the plaster has been taken away up to around 4 feet. We are now waiting for bricks to dry.

Work wise I got a few things progressed and got a cheque lodged which is always good. I got an invoice authorised and follow up on some that had gone astray. If I sort those today it may mean extra payment by this Friday or definitely by next Friday which is good.

I stopped off to pick up some stuff for my mum’s birthday on the way home last night and got a puncture. We have run flats so drove it home and are waiting for it to be sorted now. I’m not happy. The lease covers replacement tyres from wear and tear but not punctures.

Tonight we are going to see the killers which should be good however it’s currently looking overcast which is less good. Part of me just wants to crawl into bed and stay there for a year.

Right, I need to crack on before the wallow kicks in

  • I am so so tired and sore. I am too old and unfit to stand in a park for hours. We also parked a distance away so there was a bit of a trek each way. DH racked up 14.5k steps. It was a good performance but some of the attendees left a lot to be desired. There were too many who were clearly unable to handle their drink and this spoils it for others. My feet were trampled on, I was shoved, poked and prodded and got hit in the face by someone throwing their arms around their friend. We got home around midnight and watched telly for an hour. I’m feeling it now.

The workmen have arrived so the kitchen is progressing which is good. I need to get motoring but am all out of oomph. Today is my mother’s birthday so I will call with her later. I’m still looking for two last things to make up her present so will keep an eye out for those today.
