Good to hear your op left such minimal scarring. There really are some super-skilled people out there.
I've had a similar experience to you, of falling off a list somewhere and having to chase it up. In my case I knew there were people who would have just fallen out of the system completely at that point, so I put in a complaint and had a letter of apology saying the department had moved offices and lost my appointment on the way. So it's definitely worth chasing it up, though the additional waiting is a real nuisance. I suppose there may be a bit of a plus to a longer wait in that your body has more time to get used to your new norms which might help you maintain weight-wise. After all you've come a long way already!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

This isn’t falling off a list. This is the NI health service where waits are so long a government report said that they wouldn’t be tolerated in any other part of the UK.
Yesterday I had a good client meeting and then went to the house of fun. I am fed up trying to deal with that manager. He just suits himself while being overpaid. I then got word that the main reason for the dampness in the kitchen was a burst pipe in a concrete floor. To say I could cry is an understatement. I’m currently waiting to see where that will leave our bill. We have also had to send the furry one elsewhere to stay. I miss her already but as we have dust everywhere and no kitchen sink, it has to happen. Today I am grateful for

How frustrating about the burst pipe. Hope it's not too expensive xx"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Yesterday went quite well with things getting done both work wise and house wise. The original work in the house is progressing well but the burst pipe related stuff has of necessity stalled. All the plaster has been stripped back, the bricks now need to dry out before we can do anything more. First instalment was paid last night.
We were out for dinner and tonight we are having left over takeaway. I swung by the bakery yesterday and got bread bags some of which went to the freezer and others are providing breakfasts, lunches etc. I will also drop some bits into my mum on the way to work.
This weekend’s job is to get up to date on expenses and drawings while dh cracks on with eBay. I am also starting work on a tender as I spoke to a former client who is happy to act as a reference. This is good as I have now got two reference sites who are each as relevant as can be for this job.
I just need to get up and at today. Today I am grateful for

Dreadful about the burst pipe - I'm guessing that means more costs, mess, excavations... though as you say an emergency fund makes all the difference there. However having things done to the house is stressful enough without added extras.
It looks as though things are going well on the work front, though, which is all down to your skills and hard work.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Sorry about the burst pipe INOD
. I suppose it's better than dry rot or rising damp but it's not the news you want to hear. You will miss the furry friend.
Good news about your friend though.

I am so annoyed at myself. I have eaten garbage all week and my wii records a 3 lb weight gain though happily I’m only up two pounds. I am however back in the OBESE range. This is simple science. Ingest too many calories, move too little and gain weight. I can make all the excuses in the world but I’m being stupid. True I have no kitchen sink or cooker but that doesn’t justify eating a large triangular chocolate at one sitting. Enough is enough.
On other news, I’m tired, feeling down and afraid to go to the shops as I know I’m in a dangerous urge to spend place. The house is getting worse as washing is mounting up due to the kitchen work etc. If a dry day could be guaranteed, we could dry it outside but yesterday was our first entirely dry day in ages.
I have also lost access to a table to work on after deciding a week or so ago that that was best. I miss the dog!
Right, the wallow has been done. I now need to contort myself sufficiently to boot my butt and get on with things. First task has to be expenses as funds are low. This May mean dh clearing his stuff of what is allegedly the household desk but needs must.
